Kate's POV
Today was finally the day that I got discharged from hospital and I couldn't have been more excited to get home. I was sick of the lack of entertainment and privacy, and the boring white walls were starting to grate on me for some reason. I wasn't the only one glad to be getting home; my Mum, Rosie and Ryan were all glad of it too. They never complained when I was around but I knew they were bored sitting around whenever they came to visit and the chairs looked excruciatingly uncomfortable from where I was sitting.
And I remember what Rob said to me the day he visited, just before he left.
"I'll come and see you the day you get released. I promise."
I thought about that a lot.
And it had finally come. My freedom! It was so nice to walk out of that hospital knowing that I didn't have to go back to that little bed again. My mum took me back home where Rosie, Ryan and Jack had been waiting for me. They had put 'Welcome Home' banners up and a few balloons around the living room making my heart melt a little bit. They were all so sweet and I was so grateful for all of their support over the last couple of weeks.
But I couldn't help but wonder where Rob was.
We were all sat on the sofas watching TV with our Domino's pizzas when I slipped my phone out of my pocket to text Rob.
"Hi, I've been discharged. Wanna come over for pizza?" sent @ 6:13pm
I was a little disheartened that he wasn't already here and that he hadn't even text me. We had been texting quite a bit in the hospital but he hadn't sent me anything since Thursday. And today was Saturday. I just put it down to him being really busy at work or something. He did promise, though. Didn't he? I waited ages for a reply, staring at the blank screen hoping that it would light up soon. I could see my reflection in the screen and the doctors were right, my hair covered most of the scar. Only a tiny bit crept over onto my forehead. I sighed and put my phone away.
"You okay, love?" my Mum asked.
"Hm, oh. Yeah. I'm fine. Just a little tired, I suppose," I said. Everyone understood as it had been a long day for me. Rosie, Ryan and Jack said their goodbyes and left me to have a rest on the sofa. My eyelids were heavy as my Mum wrapped a blanket over me, turned the TV down and cleared our food.

"Kate? Kate? Wake up," my Mum's voice spoke whilst shaking my shoulder lightly. "There's two police officers here to speak to you." I groaned a little bit as I sat up. I didn't want to be interrogated about what happened right now. I wanted to sleep and I wanted to know why Rob wasn't here. I looked at the clock which read 8:46pm.
"Hello, Miss. Alison. I'm sorry we've had to wake you. We're glad to see you feeling better and at home now," the shorter, brunette officer smiled. I smiled back and thanked him. The taller officer stood to the left of him was carrying his hat, showing his spikey blond hair.
"We have some good news, do you mind if we take a seat?" he asked.
"Sure," I said, taking my feet from off the sofa and smoothing my bed head down.
"We've found your attacker. It may come to you as a shock to find out who it is, so please stay calm. They are with us at the station now so they can't get to you," the smaller one said.
