Aria walked over to her closet and looked through it, packing was hard, and what did she need? College was something she had been waiting for since she started high school, but now she was just nervous. What if she didn't make friends, or didn't do it good enough? At high school she was the top of her class- but this was college, everything would be so much harder. She folded a few pants, put them in her now full bag which was protruded like the belly of a woman heavy with a child and closed it. Only one more full and heavy bag and she had everything she needed. She heard a knock on her bedroom door and her father walked in, his face-a perfect blend of pride and sadness at that time. He gave her a half-smile, looking at the bags then at her again.
"Are you all set?"
Aria smiled at her dad trying to comfort him, then nodded.
"Almost."
"Well, when you're done come down, your mom and I have a present for you."
He walked back over to the door. Aria nodded yes as she put her laptop into her purse. She looked around her room; this would be her last night sleeping in her own room. Her next night would be with a roommate, on a separate bed which may be less comfortable as the one she had now. She sighed and put some pants and blouses down in the last bag before she closed that one too. She walked out of her room and went down the stairs into the living room.
"All done," she said with a slight smile. Aria's mom, Kate, put down the book she was reading and she gave her daughter a-I will miss you look.
"That's good," And she got up from one of the chairs she was sitting in. Her dad looked away from the television.
"So are you ready for your present?" he asked, a small curl appeared on Aria's lips.
"You guys didn't need to get me anything,"
Kate smiled and walked over to the front door.
"Call it a late graduation present," she said while she opened the door. Aria looked out, and a big smile plastered on her face, it was a car. Okay, it was an old Golf that looked like it had been through some tough times, but it was still a car, something with four-wheels, a steering wheel and could be driven around in and out of campus. When she heard her dad say earlier that "your mum and I have a present for you" a car was far away from what she was thinking.
"Thank you" she screamed as she ran out to look at it.
"We thought it was something you could need, now you can come home once in a while," George said with a smile. The family had gone through some tough times lately with Aria's mom losing her job, but her dad had just gotten a small promotion and a big bonus, this was something his daughter deserved and he wouldn't deprive her daughter from having it. Aria turned back to her parents.
"Thank you so much," she said and gave them both a big hug.
Kate smiled "Oh and I talked to your aunt Carrie; she said if you needed a job she has an opening at the local café, it's right outside campus."
A feeling of fulfilment filled her features. A new car and a job, definitely college was going to be fun and better than what she thought.
"Thank you, I am sure I'll need it."

The drive to the campus had been refreshing and also fun filled, especially with her new present. Aria stopped her new (old) car at the parking lot outside campus, she looked startled at the buildings-they were so beautiful and college like. Each was an architectural masterpiece. She got out of the car opened the trunk and started unloading, she would have to take it in a few rounds. When she was ready to go, a cute brunette girl walked up to her.
