Aria had her feet on the dashboard scrolled down the list of songs trying to find a good road trip song, Aiden's music was not really her style, he liked a lot of older music, but then she saw Coldplay with don't panic, one of her favorite songs. She changed the song smiling looking out of the window as they drove down the coast. She could see Aiden turning his head looking at her from time to time.
"Did you grow up in Orange County?" Aria asked turning to look at Aiden, he nodded as he sped up driving past a few cars.
"Yeah, my grandfather started the family business and now my father runs it"
"What kind of business does he do?"
"It started as a real estate agency, but now it's one in OC one in LA, one in New York and one in Huston and he owns a lot of buildings and houses around LA. So now it's more owning less selling" Aiden explained. Aria nodded stunned.
"Wow, he is really accomplished, so are you suppose to take over for your dad?"
"Yes he is, he has worked hard all his life for everything, so I guess he wants me to take over, we haven't really discussed it that much yet. I taking economy, so I'll see what I can do with that, not really sure what I want to do yet, but I know I want to work, not just become an owner and go around living off that." Aria was even more fascinated by Aiden now that she knew he actually wanted to work for his money said a lot about him. When you can get everything handed to you and you still want to make it on your own.
They parked the car and Aria suddenly felt really nervous, she was meeting Aiden's parents, would they like her? What did they think, that they were just friend or more? Did he usually take friends or other girls home to meet his family? Aiden squeezed her hand a bit looking at her talking a low voice
"It will be fun" he opened his door and steps out. It had been a few days since the Chase incident, Aria still felt heartbroken over it, not really because she had such strong feelings for Chase, but because she had been so stupid to think she wasn't just a paid sex partner. Being with Aiden helped. She opened the door and got out as well, she stepped out of the car she looked up at the house, or should she say mansion, it had an Italian-style, painted in white with black painted shutters and frames, it was so big and with three floors, two normal once and the third a roof floor. The house was surrounded by a big lawn with big trees and perfectly cut bushes, the side of the house had a large porch with pillars up to the second floor where there was an equally large balcony facing the ocean. Aria looked around amazed.
"Wow" was all she said, she turned to Aiden that was taking out their bags, as he chuckled and walked over to her.
"I know" was all he got to say before they heard a woman's voice from behind, they turned to look at the woman.
"Aiden" She said smiling coming down to the car, she wasn't looking at Aiden, but at her. Aria looked at Aiden and he mouthed "Mom" to her, so Aria put on a big smile and looked at her as she came over.
"Mrs. Stone" Aria smiled, She was polished from top to bottom, and her perfectly blond hair was cut in a perfect housewife style right over her shoulders and had a perfect amount of volume. She was wearing a baby pink shirt that was perfectly tucked down in her beige pants. Aria was relieved when she smiled back.
"Call me Veronica please" she said and hugged her tight then walked over to Aiden and hugged him
"You didn't tell me your girlfriend was this beautiful." Aria blushed, and Aiden shifted awkwardly
"Mom she's not my girlfriend, just a friend" he said and Veronica nodded and looked at Aria
"Come with me, Aiden will take the bags" she said as she locked arms with her and dragged to the front door. Aria walked awkwardly inside looking back at Aiden that was still getting bags out of the car. She looked around the house, it was stunning. It was a long hallway and on the left side was a double sized staircase that led up to the second floor. Before the staircase was an open double door into the kitchen, on the right the living room. The floors were laid in parquet and the walls wherein eggshell white. They walked into the living room, it was big and a little old fashion but beautiful. The walls were the same eggshell white with two double white couch's, and a white wooden table. In front beside the door facing one of the couch's was a big white stone fireplace. Not that she understood why someone that lived in Newport had use for a fireplace, but it looked beautiful. She looked up and stared in envy at the big beautiful chandelier that was hanging over the living room table. On the upset side of the door was big windows with a big door leading out to the porch she had seen from outside.
