I should have known better, I always knew I didn’t like baseball. Well at the moment that hatred had extended to simply baseball players. I had been played by the guy I had been obsessing over for months. What I thought was him being a genuine guy was actually just a ploy to get into my pants. Not that I let him! I bought the whole “sorry babe, I’m busy with baseball, but I promise after the season we will make it official” bs. Matthew Rye was a good for nothing loser who I had caught cheating on me with the school slut. You would think knowing he was a loser would have helped me get over him right? Wrong. I had been moping around for a week not even bothering to leave my house for anything.

“Scarlet get your ass out of bed now and hop in the shower!” my best friend Molly yelled. I simply chose to ignore her and continued to fall back asleep. However that only lasted for a second before Molly ripped off all my covers and pushed me out of bed. Gosh she was violent.

“Scar I refuse to see you lay around crying over that stupid boy. You deserve so much better. Now go get changed and get ready because we are going out and don’t even think about saying no because you don’t have a choice in the matter.” she said.

Knowing Molly, I knew there was no point in arguing so I grabbed my clothes and headed to the shower. After a quick shower I began getting ready. I threw on some cutoff shorts and a simple black tank top, shook out my long brown curls, and swept a bit of mascara on my long lashes before throwing on my shoes and jumping into Molly’s car.

“So Mo where are we headed?” I implied.

“It’s a surprise.” She simply responded.

After that I just leaned my head against the window and tuned her out. One thing about Molly was that she could talk for hours, going on and on about clothes, gossip, boys, and normally I was the same but at the moment I wasn’t really in the mood. I sipped one of my headphones in without her noticing so she thought I was still listening to her talk and started blasting the Summer Set in my ears.
