"You think these will get infected?" asked Yue as he poked at the deep lacerations left from the sacrificial ritual. He didn't feel anything from them but they still left an ugly sight.

Ray- "You should probably bandage them."

"I hope they won't attract flies, the last thing I need is maggots crawling out of my stomach" he continued casually.

"Fuuuuuuk! The mental image!" cried out a peeved bird to which Yue chuckled.

Time flew by with their idle chatt- (cough, bickering with a slash of bullying) and the pair was soon back to Xavier's tower.

However as they were nearing the window, they heard an oddly familiar voice spat with barely contained fury "How could this be!? I had obliterated all of them!"

"Turns out it's not all there was to it. We are dealing with something much bigger here" replied Master's placid voice.

"Is this the extent of your minion's expertise?! They could not even find their location" said the voice, dripping with venom.

Ah! Yes! There was no mistaking this condescending tone. It was Jadiel, a clone certainly because Jadiel never comes anywhere near the manor.

At the same time, Ray landed on the windowsill and two pair of eyes turned to them, one tranquil, the other, disdainful.

Jadiel's eyes narrowed momentarily in Vinx's (Yue's) direction before turning his attention back to Master Xavier.

Ray: "Oh shit! He will definitely see us when the clone dissipates. And it won't take much for him to figure out you lied".

Clowns can come in different forms, from mindless marionette carrying out a task to a perfect copy of the mage who can even practice magic to a certain extent. Once they have ceased their function their memories are transferred back to the mage. The better the mage the more accurate the moment of the clone's existence are and for a high ranked mage like Jadiel, it most definitely won't miss a single moment.

"I never said the return talisman would send us to Master. We'll be fine, don't dwell on it too much~" he reassured his jumpy friend.

"I shall look further into the matter Sir Xavier" said Jadiel with a bow, but it seemed more like mockery, than a show of respect, before disappearing in a flicker of sparks.

The thick tension that was prevailing in the room dissipated instantly.

Most though Jadiel and Xavier were sworn brothers with how easily he was appointed as Isle Lord but seeing how they acted in each-others presence, they quickly dismissed the notion.
