Chapter 5: Ticket To Mars

Dear Lord.

I did not just see Connor naked.

That was the most awkward thing that has ever happened to me.

How in the world will I ever be able to erase the images of that from my mind?

I'm rubbing my eyes fiercely, like that is going to help me forget it all while jogging to Anna's room.

When I get to the door of her room with number 52 on it, I stop myself from barging in and nock first.

Lets just say, you learn from your mistakes.

"Come in," I hear from the other side.

I step inside the room. "Oh Anna, it burns," I say while still rubbing my eyes.

"What does?" I lay on her bed, covering myself with her blanket, still feeling embarrassed.

"Oh btw, before you get comfy, that is Jesse's bed and he already took a nap today," she warns me,"and he sleeps naked."

I jump out of the bed immediately. "Ew, ew, ew! Gross, I don't want to hear about someone being naked ever again!"

"What happened to you?" She laughs while walking around the room, getting prepared to go skiing.

I cover my face with my hands. "I saw Connor naked."

"No way!" She freezes in place and starts laughing hysterically. "But... like... did you, like... see his diçk?"

"Oh my God, no! I would've died if that happened!" I can't help but to laugh myself. I guess, I could have it worse. "But I saw his freaking butt!"

She starts laughing more and sits on the floor. "That is hilarious!"

"Yeah, for you! But I am so fucking embarrassed, I am actually thinking about applying for the one way ticket to Mars!" I admit, when someone unexpectedly opens the door.

"Care to explain, what the fuck just happened?" he says, when his eyes spot me in the room. It's Connor. (Thankfully dressed this time.)

Dammit, I thought that maybe he didn't even know it was me who intruded.

He looks furious, right hand on his hip, eyes fiercely looking at me. Even at his angriest, he still looks like he's posing.

"Did they not teach you how to nock?" he ask, his gaze not leaving me.

"Well, you didn't nock when you came barging in her either!" I scream at him, my embarrassment replaced with anger.

He's caught off guard for a second, knowing that I have a point.

"Still, if we'll be sleeping in the same room, you'll have to learn how to nock! I could be there with some hot chick and you would ruin the moment," he tells me.

"Ugh, no way you'll be bringing girls to our room! That's disgusting! You know we share the same bed, right?" Our room only has one family bed while Anna's and Jesse's has two separate beds.

"So what?" he says, clearly not giving a damn about my argument.

"That's it! We're changing the room with you guys," I tell Anna. She nods.

"Fine," Connor says.

"Good," I say.

An hour later, I am already skiing with Eddy and Jesse. Anna and Connor went skiing on a more flatter slope which has ski tows, since Anna is not that good at skiing and Connor is helping her out. We're still kinda avoiding each other.

We're currently taking a break on the sideline of the track, me drinking tea from my thermos, Jesse looking at his phone and Eddy sitting on the ground, talking on the phone to Lori.

"Babe, you know I wouldn't flirt with any girls here," Eddy's convincing Lori. "Yea, I promise... I miss you too." What is it with couples and missing each other after what hasn't even been a day.

He stands up and walks away for some privacy. What he doesn't realize is that we can still hear him.

"I don't know how I'll bear without you either... Maybe we could, you know, try something over the phone?" I split tea all over my jacket.

"Okay, we won't if you don't want too," he responds to Lori.

"He knows we can hear him right?" Jesse asks and I try not to laugh too hard.

"I seriously didn't need to know that. Aggh, disgusting," I allege while still stifling laughter.

"You'll be doing it at some point too, you know," Jesse informs me.

"I didn't mean the... Khm part, but what's disgusting is the sight I had in my mind," I say, "RIP my mind." Altho, my mind was probably long gone after I saw Connor naked.

"What is so funny?" Eddy asks me, when he approaches.

"Nothing, really," I answer, trying not to sound suspicious.

Eddy is another person I won't be able to look at the same way after today. "Awesome," I mumble to myself.

"Ready to go?" Jesse asks after I settled my ski boots into fixes and Eddy prepared his snowboard.

"Let's go," I say and we're gliding down the trail again.

After a while I've lost the sight of Jesse and Eddy, thinking that they're probably behind me. I slow down, waiting for them. What had to be at least two minutes, they finally appear.

"You guys suck!" I scream at them, and totally miss the person that's about to crash into me.

Karma is a bitch.

I slowly regain my consciousness, hearing my name being called over and over again.

I open my eyes and the first thing I see is the most beautiful gold eyes I've ever seen.

Like yeah, blue eyes are beautiful, but did you ever see brown eyes under sunlight? Marvelous.

"Are you okay?" Kai asks me.

Hello? Your face is a few inches above me, I'm trying to be okay.

"I feel sick," I say honestly and try to get up but my head feels like a hundred bricks, so I lay back on the snow. "How long was I out?"

"A few seconds, I think you might have a concussion," Kai answers. I can see a few figures behind him, but my vision is kinda blurry, so I can just guess Jesse and Eddy are here too.

"Daaang, Kai, she obviously has a concussion," I hear a familiar voice.

"I think so too," I answer, knowing that's the case, because it's not the first time I've had it. Altho it doesn't seem so bad, the first time it happened I puked immediately.

"I'll carry her to her room," I recognize Jesse's voice.

"It's okay, I can do it, just take me to it," Kai volunteers and carefully lifts me up. I can hear ringing in my ears by now as he's slowly stepping in the direction of the hotel. I wish I could follow their conversations, but I can't think straight, the only thing I can focus on is the awful pain in my head.

But as he holds me tight, I can still hear him say, "You'll be fine, Rosey."
