Yngvar awoke on the ground. He realized he was no longer in Skyrim when he realized his skin was glowing. He was in his soul. He slowly got up. He felt his stomach for the wound, but it wasn't there. Instead it was quicksilver. His Nordic carved armor he wore before he changed his life.
Before Yngvar was a merchant, he was a mercenary. People hired him to take care of business. He wondered why he was in Sovngarde. Only the honorable heroes could go. He proceeded down the path to the giant bridge. There stood Tsun, the Nord god of trials.
Tsun stopped Yngvar. "You there," began Tsun, "what have you done to prove yourself worthy of entering the Hall of Valor?"
Yngvar thought for a moment. "I don't think I've done anything to come here." Yngvar looked down.
Tsun looked down upon him. "Ah, but you have." Yngvar looked back at Tsun.
"You remember the time when you saved those children in Dragonstar?"
Yngvar suddenly remembered. In his time as a mercenary, Yngvar was hired to get money from a corrupt orphanage headmaster. When Yngvar got to the orphanage, it was on fire. He went inside to find the headmaster dead. However, the orphans were still hiding.
He almost thought of leaving to save himself, but made the decision to save the orphans. After a while, he got all the orphans out, but one was left. He went back inside and got the orphan. But when he got him, the house fell on them. In the morning, Yngvar was found unconscious with the orphan alive beneath his shield.
Yngvar was lucky to escape with his life, but as soon as he came back to health, he was arrested for being a mercenary. He was in Dragonstar prison for a year and was released back into Skyrim. That's when he quit his life as a mercenary and became a merchant.
"So, Savior of Dragonstar Orphanage, you have proven yourself worthy." Tsun stepped aside to let Yngvar cross the bridge. Yngvar didn't go.
"Why are you not crossing?" asked Tsun.
"I have unfinished business in Whiterun. My wife was kidnapped by someone by the name of Skeever and his bandits. I don't wish to gain revenge, but I wish to cleanse Whiterun and all of Tamriel of their scum." Yngvar was ready to go back.
Tsun nodded. "Well then, if you do wish, Nirn awaits a hero. Nahl daal vus!"
Yngvar fell backwards and saw a light. He awoke back where he died. He sat up and felt for his wound. It was gone. He stood up and walked towards his cabin. The door was still open from when he kicked it open. He walked in straight to an old chest. He opened the chest to find the armor he hasn't used since being in Dragonstar.
His Nordic carved armor.
