I was running on my normal Wednesday afternoon run when I saw a small blonde girl curled up into a ball sitting on a bench. I stopped running and got closer. I didn't see it until I got closer that it was Violet from school. " Listen if this is about what happened today at school I am sure nobody else knows what happened. I don't even." I said with a bit of warmth into my voice I didn't even know I had. " No, no it's not that it's it..." she started sobbing again and I sat next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She looked out into the distance and asked " why are you helping me. I mean there's no point we have only known each other for a few weeks." "I don't know" I started " It just feels right, I guess". She stopped crying and I asked " I know you don't know me much but what happened?" " Listen I am no girl in distress but I will tell you" she waited five more seconds before talking again " my dad has been noticeably missing for a while and I and my family thought it was work but he was cheating on my mom. He just left and my mom doesn't have a job but you can't tell anybody, please." She begged then started crying again and I had no idea what to do. All I could do was sit and watch. I hugged her tighter but then an idea came into my head. "Why don't you come over to my house to work on our project to distract you". It was a lost cause but worth a try. She blushed and nodded. Fireworks exploded inside me as Violet and I made our way to my house. I was still holding her when we got to the door and that's when I realized why my heart had skipped a beat. I was in love with Violet and I would do anything to help her
