I was woken up by a knock at the door.I sit up from the bed, with a groan, sloppily rubbing my eyes, and scooting off of the bed.
I avoided looking into the mirror at myself, already knowing that if I saw myself then I'd never open the door.
"What?" I pulled the door open.
Bucky smiled softly. "Just woke up?"
"Yeah." I lift my arms over my head, stretching. Then, moved out of the way and gestured for him to come in.
I went back to my bed, laying down and grabbing a pillow. I pulled it into my chest as I laid on my side, cuddling it, and closed my eyes.
"You're going back to sleep?"
I shoved my head into my pillow, shaking my head. "No. I'm just not awake enough to keep my eyes open. What did you want?"
The bed dipped near my legs, and I knew he had sat down beside me. "I just wanted to see how you were doing. Stark didn't say much about what you guys did except 'Don't piss her off.'" Bucky mimicked Tony's voice. "The rest of us kind of put two and two together when we saw your energy blast things in the distance."
I chuckled, tiredly. "Energy blast things?"
"Well, what would you call them?"
I stayed silent because I, myself don't know what I'd refer to them as. I just call them energy, because that's what they are.
"So, what? You came to check on me? I'm not going to explode any moment." I cringed into the pillow. I didn't mean it to sound as harshly as it did.
"No, I know. I just don't want you to think that no one is here for you. I mean, we all are, but you know." He stutters towards the end.
I open my eyes slightly, peaking through them. The look on his face made me smile softly to myself. He looked embarrassed and he was rubbing the back of his neck.
"Thank you, Bucky." I say softly. I watch him through my half closed eyelids.
He smiles to himself.
I take a deep breath and sit up, releasing the pillow from my grasp. "You have any plans?"
"No."
"Let's go to the gym. I've never been good at hand to hand combat. Steve - " I paused. I cleared my throat. "Steve used to tell me I should work on it in case of an instance when I can't use my powers. He never did teach me though."
I could tell by the look on his face that he felt bad for me, but he also looked proud. I guess due to the fact that I'm capable of saying Steve's name, even when I'm not cursing him to hell or crying over him.
I still hated him though.
"I'd be glad too." Bucky smiled.
"Okay. Let me change." I tell him, standing up from the bed, stretching again. I then realized I didn't know whose room I was in nor did I have clothes. "Hm. How about I meet you there? I need to make a pit stop."
He only nodded and left the room. I walked out behind him and walked the opposite direction. I didn't know where I was going, but so didn't want to walk the same way as him because that'd be awkward.
"Uh. Friday?" I call out.
"Hello, Miss Y/L/N. How can I help you?"
"Can you give me the directions to Natasha's room?" I ask.
"Of course. You are not too far. Miss Romanov's room will be down the hallway to your left and the first door on the right."
"Alright." I start walking in the direction that Friday told me. "Oh, uh, thanks?"
