(Back to George's POV)
I feel as if I'm floating through time and space. A bright light seeps into my mostly-shut eyes, and I sigh deeply, pressing my eyelids further shut. Attempting to roll over, I frown, my arms not being able to move.
What?
I pry my eyes open slowly, starting to remember where I am. Oh. Dream.
Realizing that my arms are wrapped around his torso, a soft smile creeps its way onto my face. He likes to be a little spoon. I tease him inaudibly, practically giggling at the revelation. Who would've thought that a man that acts so tough would actually be such a softie?
He groans quietly and his body moves as he tries to become comfortable again, proceeding to press his back further into me, somehow. Oh. I think, a light heat rushing to my cheeks. My teeth press into each other, attempting to get my mind off of anything but the feeling of Dream's bare skin under my hands.
The way that my fingers glide along his body, the slightly raised bumps and lines of scars scattered haphazardly on his skin. Light pours in from the window, throwing sunshine across us, the covers on the bed pushed down from becoming too hot during the night.
I admire the glow of his skin, the way the sun reflects on the lightly colored hair on his arms and chest. Everything about him, I see it all, from a whole different perspective. It all seems... like more. More than before.
"I can feel you staring at me." He chuckles lightly, his voice scratchy and deep from sleep. My eyes snap up, parting from his glowing skin, scoping upwards towards his slightly turned head, his eyes still shut. A faint smile traces across his mouth. Smug bastard.
I look away and roll my eyes. "Good morning."
"Good morning, handsome." He turns over, and I move my hands to not be stuck under him, instead placing one on his chest and the other back on the side of his torso.
"I didn't mean to wake you." I say lightly, looking up at his face, his eyes beginning to open slowly. Dream smiles when his brain catches up to his sight, and he pulls me into him, my face getting buried in the crook of his neck.
I breathe in deeply, tightening my grip on him as well. We lay there for a few moments, yet I can feel the sunshine causing the room to get warmer, and Dream is already sweaty from sleep. I pry myself from his grasp, and he groans and complains the whole time, asking me to stay.
"You stink." I tease him, although it's true. "I'm going to shower. Finally, a real shower again." Smiling as I walk into the bathroom, my mind wanders to how good it's going to feel, and I don't notice as Dream rolls out of bed until I hear a loud thump on the ground. Another groan echoes across the room, and I turn from the bathroom door frame to see him lying on the ground, half covered in the sheets and trying to get undone.
I chuckle at the sight and roll my eyes. Idiot.
I check the cabinets and make sure to grab a washcloth and a towel for after I'm done, peeking into the mostly open-style shower to see if there's anything I could use. Luckily, there's a small bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap sitting on the small ledge against the back side of the shower.
