Clara and Alice excitedly approached Bella and Edward and led them through the forest, not far from the Cullen house.
They finally stopped at a small stone cottage. It was greyish-lavender in colour and plants flowers of all sorts claimed the roof and the walls. It was a very homely looking cottage, in short.

"Happy Birthday!" Clara wished. Bella furrowed her eyebrows and looked at the vampires in confusion.

"I stopped ageing 3 days ago." She stated.
"Well we're celebrating anyway. So suck it up." Alice said and Clara laughed at her strict tone of voice. Clara gave her 'byes' and left as Alice handed them the key and instructed them whatnot about the house.

Clara rocked Renesmee to sleep and handed the baby to Esme who smiled excitedly.
"You should go. Your husband's been complaining to mine that you guys hardly have a private time." She smugly told and Clara laughed before nodding and leaving.

"Jaz! I'm home!" She called as she opened the door and entered their room. Jasper who was reading on the bed, smiled and stood up. The two mates embraced one another in a tight hug, chuckling.

"This feels nice. How long has it been since I last hugged you like this?" Jasper mumbled. Clara laughed, playing with his honey blonde hair.

"Not that long Jaz. But I won't lie, it feels like forever. I'm sorry for being so busy and ignoring-" Clara didn't finish her sentence as Jasper pulled back from the hug and pressed his lips to hers. She smiled for a second before closing her eyes and softly kissing back.

They pulled apart a few minutes after and Jasper caressed her cheek with her thumb.
"Darlin', I understand. Don't worry. I'm just being childish." He joked before whispering, "But I did prepare the bath."

Clara giggled and playfully rolled her eyes before lacing their fingers and slowly leading him to the bathroom. Jasper smirked and slammed the doors shut before the two had a few relaxing hours and a night of hugs and kisses and something more that followed.

Clara and Jasper laid together, tightly hugging each other as they made small talk and laughed. Articles of clothing were spread all over the room.

"Hey Jaz?" Clara called her husband who hummed in response.

"Do you still think we can use Whitlock as our last name one day? I feel like it's such a traditional and nice surname." She mused and Jasper chuckled.

"Maybe. In a couple of decades, we can always change our last name to Jasper and Clara Whitlock Hale. I've always wanted to do that, I just didn't because I had no one to share it with." He replied.

Clara giggled and kissed his cheek. "Well now you do." She stated and glanced at the clock, "And it's time for me to get up and make breakfast for our fellow wolves."

Jasper groaned but nodded and kissed her head before letting go of her and allowing her to get dressed and leave to the kitchen to prepare sandwiches for the wolves and milk for Renesmee.

Clara and Jasper entered the living room after giving the wolves their breakfast, which they were grateful for, and handing Rosalie the milk bottle for Renesmee.
Carlisle sat on the couch looking at his computer as he researched for more information on hybrids. Emmett sat beside his adoptive father, reading a newspaper. On seeing the couple, he smirked,
"Had fun?"

Jasper snorted while Clara playfully rolled her eyes taking a seat beside their brother.
"Emmett, why don't you use that brain for something smart? Rather than these stupid, perverted jokes you make." Clara suggested.

"Clara, you just forget that I'm super smart and as hiding it so I don't intimidate you." Emmett feigned offence and Carlisle snorted in mock.

Just then Bella and Edward entered the room. Jasper sighed, already sensing some mischievous joke from Emmett.

"Wow. Done already?" As expected, Emmett asked. Edward rolled his eyes while Bella ignored him.

"Where's Renesmee?" She asked.
"Blondie stole her." Jacob replied glancing out the window and checking on Renesmee before biting his sandwich.

"Break a lot of stuff?" Emmett continued. At this, Clara's head snapped to them.
"Not the lights right? Those are expensive limited edition bulbs I fought hard to get."

If Bella were human, she was sure she would have fainted from all the blood rushing to her face. Instead, she looked away and shook her head.
"Emmett, shut up. And no Clara, nothing was broken."

At her discomforted answer, they all laughed. Even Jacob and the ones outside. That is, until the phone rang making everyone stiffen as only one person would call the Cullen household.

"Is that Charlie?" Bella asked taking steps towards the phone.

"He's been calling twice a day." Edward answered.
"He's in a pretty rough shape." Jacob added making Bella and Clara frown. Clara felt bad for not speaking to her father and not picking up any of his calls but there was nothing else they could do. Carlisle and Esme had been planning to leave again and were still in the midst of planning how to make Clara and Bella's disappearance look normal.

Once the call stopped ringing, Carlisle spoke,
"Eventually we'll have to tell him you didn't make it."

"He needs to mourn Bella." Edward told.

Bella sighed, hurt that her father couldn't come around her anymore. She turned to Clara and asked,
"How did he not question you? You lived in the house the entire few months you were a vampire."

"I didn't interact with dad much Bella. We only greeted each other, we stopped movie nights and baseball nights. We didn't even have meals together. He hardly saw me, I didn't even hug him because of my cold temperature." Clara answered truthfully at how distant her and Charlie had gotten during the past months.

"Clara's one of the few newborns who's never had human blood and who learnt to control her thirst well and easily. It wasn't so dangerous for Charlie." Jasper added.

"Okay we'll do it tomorrow." Bella mumbled going to her husband who hugged her.

"I'm gonna miss this place." Emmett sighed and Clara nodded along. Forks was a special place to her and would always be. It was her birth place and was where she had all her great memories with her father. Forks was where she met Jasper and fell in love with him.

"We'll come back. We always do." Carlisle assured. At their words, Jacob glanced around the vampires in confusion,
"Wait. Nobody said anything about leaving." He stated.

"Once people believe both Bella's dead, we can't risk anyone seeing her. And Esme and I are still coming up for an excuse for Clara." Carlisle explained to the wolf whose face lost all its colours.

"So you just disappear?" He grumbled.
"Jacob, we don't have any another choice." Edward told thickening the tension in the room.

Jasper could feel how hurt Jacob was at the thought of his imprint leaving him. He could always go along with them, but Jacob was now an alpha of his own pack. And he still had his own friends in La Push.

"Jaz, want to hunt?" Clara asked, not comfortable with all the tension. Jasper looked to his mate and smiled.

"Anything you want Darlin'."
