For the following 3 hours, Sam and Cameron exchanged stories. Stories and memories. Memories from being in the band, stories of what they did afterwards.

Sam told Cameron about his life with Brittany, how she had cheated and left. How they had planned to adopt children as Brittany couldn’t have her own. That way they’d have made themselves happy, and given a child a new home.

Cameron told Sam about how he had lived for the past few years. After Asking split, he had fallen back into old habits. He had become addicted to multiple drugs, was never sober and had fallen into a deep depression. Sam’s heart ached as Cameron told him this. Cameron told him that he had finally come to his senses when he had almost died. He had been involved in a car crash, 4 people were seriously injured, including himself. He had been taken to the ICU of the local hospital, and that’s when he realised how he had wasted his life. That was around a year ago. And since getting out of the hospital, he had checked himself into a 4 month rehab course, and eventually became clean of drugs. He still enjoyed the odd drink, however. Nowhere near as heavy as before, though.

And since then, he had been travelling. During the days of the band, sure they travelled a lot, but there was never enough time to truly admire the beauty. So, that’s what he was doing. So far he had been all around Europe, Asia and most of South America. He also explained after he had travelled through Australia he had hoped to go back home to the UK and settle down. Sam was hoping to do the same, but in Australia.

By the end of their little ‘Story Time’, they had shed tears and laughed obnoxiously loud remembering all the good and bad times. But one topic they never touched on – What happened between them. And for the time being, that was fine. They weren’t planning on spending any time together in Australia, however much they had missed each other, they had other plans. Well, that’s what they claimed. Cameron said he had other things to do, and Sam, not wanting to hold Cameron back, said he was also busy. All Sam had to do was return to an empty home.

Without realising it, the two had been talking for hours. Hell, they had even began to approach the airport. The intercom let out a few loud crackles before the pilot’s voice came through,

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our final decent into Kingsford-Smith international airport, please buckle up and put away all electronic devices. Thank you.”
