the tall boy walked back along the streets he had taken a few hours ago, his hands filled with the bags full of food. the bags rustled gently in the wind as sungchan hummed whatever song the street performers had sung hours earlier. by now it was probably around 2pm and sungchan was yet to eat, and so he quickly took the path home, not bothering to look at any street food this time.
meanwhile a young boy known as osaki shotaro was looking for the tall boy. shotaro had managed to retrace his steps back to the street where he dropped his pocket-watch, and luckily enough was able to see the taller quickly walking home. the boy hesitantly pushed past people in the crowds around the street vendors in order to catch up to him, and thankfully was able to do so.
"hey!" shotaro shouted, gaining the attention of strangers in the street but not sungchan. shotaro sighed in slight embarrassment before running to catch up with the taller. soon enough shotaro was able to catch up to the him, and tapped his back. the tall boy flinched a little before turning around to see the boy from earlier. his hair was much more messier from earlier, and he was out of breath from running.
"um-" but before sungchan could even say something shotaro was already talking.
"have- have you seen a pocket-watch anywhere," the boy panted, slowly regaining his breath, "it's really important i don't lose it."
"oh," sungchan replied, his hand reaching into a bag to retrieve the golden watch, "this is it, right?" he said, holding it out to the other boy.
"yeah that's the one!" shotaro said happily, quickly retrieving the item from the taller's hand only to notice the large crack in the glass and the chips in the pink crystal. the smile from the boy quickly faded, as well as the small creases around his eyes.
"i'm..." sungchan started to say something, but couldn't find the words to say.
"it's okay," the boy smiled, "whatever happens happens. thank you for picking it up."
the two soon fell silent, though it wasn't awkward. each of them found themselves looking at each other, one might say they were admiring each other. they were admiring how each other's eyes seemed to placed perfectly on their face, and how their noses seemed to perfect, and how their eyebrows were perfectly placed on their face.
"oh- um," the shorter said, blushing as he realised what he was doing. "i'm shotaro, osaki shotaro."
"sungchan, jung sungchan." the taller replied and the two shook hands. shotaro noticed how his hand was much smaller than the other, but that was only natural considering the height. but still, shotaro's hand fit perfectly in the other's.
"sungchan," shotaro said, "are you free for lunch?"

"i've already told you, i can pay for your food." shotaro said, walking by the tall boy who was slightly out of breath. sungchan had to run home to put what he bought away before explaining to his step-mother that he was going out.
"are you sure?" sungchan asked for the nth time, "i don't want to use any of your money."
"i have enough for both of us anyway," shotaro explained, also for the nth time. sungchan soon gave up on feeling bad and just accepted that shotaro was just going to be stubborn and buy him food.
the two boys walked through the busy streets, the smell of fresh food filling their noses but making their stomachs feel more empty. every so often, the two would end up bumping in to others, issuing an apology now and then with a quick bow. eventually, shotaro led the tall boy into a restaurant. the place seemed well designed, with old paintings decorating the walls, and the place was filled with many tables and chairs. there was a light chatter in the place and it was dimly lit.
