When I woke up, I looked around to see that I was outside. There was torches lit, and I went to sit up when I realized I was being held down by chains.

I struggled against them, and Carson walked over to me with a tiny smirk on his lips.

"It's almost time," he said, happily. "And to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that your lover didn't come for you."

"Why? Because you couldn't kill him?" I replied, bitterly.

He nodded,"Killing mates are so fun."

"You are a psycho, and you will rot in hell."

"A psycho?" He repeated what I asked with a bitter laugh. "Mates make you weak; love makes you weak."

I shook my head,"Not true."

"It is. My parents loved me, and because of that love, they took away my powers."

"You killed innocent people, Carson!" I exclaimed before taking a deep breath to calm myself down.

"They were not innocent. Werewolves are never innocent."

"And vampires are?"

"Do you ever think why I killed those people?" Carson asked, making me stay silent. "Exactly. I killed those people because one of their new member killed my best friend. The one person I could tolerate in this pathetic world."

He continued,"And after his death, I went to the pack to tell them what happened, but they didn't believe me. They said that I killed him, and I was covering my tracks. And I lost it."

"Carson, I know you miss being a vampire, but I'm your little sister. Are you really going to kill me for power?"

"I wish I didn't have to kill you, but not because you are my sister, Brooklyn. But because you are the only tribid on this planet. You would have been a great asset to me especially when I make my army," Carson explained, making my blood run cold.

Then he looked up at the full moon, and he smirked,"So you know that I'm stronger in the blood moon, but did you know you are weaker?"

"W-what?"

"The Blood Moon lasts for a few minutes meaning within those few minutes, you will be vulnerable. It is the only real weakness on a tribid."

Why didn't Melissa tell me this?

"Now," Carson continued, catching my attention,"I have some thing to prepare before our audience comes."

"Audience?" I asked, making him nod.

"My followers."

I didn't say anything else, and I looked up at the stars.

At least I'll be with my parents and Melissa.

An hour passed before people started showing up. Carson was beyond pleased, and that made me sick to my stomach.

When I guess everybody showed up, Carson walked up the three small stone steps to me.
