a/n: yesterday's chapter was by far my favorite AND longest ever with a record amount of 2651 WORDS (14020 CHARACTERS), i am extremely proud of that one as that was over 2 DAYS WORTH of planning, drafting, redrafting, editing AND finally writing up the product, seems like you all enjoyed reading that as much as i enjoyed writing is judging by the messages, comments and votes you all left for me.

we are officially HALFWAY through this book which is exciting yet sad at the same time as i've enjoyed every minute of writing this but... we still have the other 2 books to write in the series AND my other fic 'Lost In Shanghai' (which is almost finished ALREADY, i thought it would last longer than this but oh well....) as well as 2 other ones coming in 2022 (yes i literally have a whole SCHEDULE of fanfics and books to write for at least until march/april 2022, including the other two books in my series 'where love and lust collide' i know i'm insane and i need therapy...)

my book is also available to view on fanfiction.net, i published it literally 5 days ago and its already gotten over 600 VIEWS- LITERALLY INSANE ILY TO PIECES!

anyways... lets get on with this chapter (fluff chapter... again, im deciding to be nice and i've added a little surprise adrienette baking scene... with fluff ofc... you can literally never escape fluff in this book...)

(this a/n was written on like the 14th june or something so the a/n at the bottom says a TOTALLY different view number of my book on fanfiction.net-)

Adrien's POV:

I walked out of my mansion, speechless at what Marinette had just done, I honestly never would've thought she would stand up to my father like that. I mean I've watched her convince him many times before but never like this... she never flew into a rage like this just to protect me from the wrath of my father and his punishments. Marinette rushed up to me and we both began walking to her house, hand in hand.

We didn't exchange a word until she flung open the trapdoor to her room and lay down on her bed, I lay down next to her and after a few minutes I realised she was crying. Her shoulders shaking uncontrollably as tears streamed down her face

"What's wrong Mari?"

"I-I'm so sorry Adrien.. I should never had stood up to your father like that... he's gonna hate me for everything and-" I hushed her and placed my finger on her lips

"Marinette, my father is never mad at you and never will hate you, in fact he admires you and your brave personality, he's honestly a tough one to knock sense into and is extremely stubborn but... you're the only one who can manage to actually convince him... second to my mother..." I trailed off, my mother was an exceptional human being- I loved her more than anything and I would sacrifice anything and EVERYTHING just to see her once more. Ever since she died I never felt the same again, the relationship between my father and I became awkward and extremely distant... but thank god I have Mari, even though she could never replace my mother, she still never fails to make me feel the way I felt around my mother- happy- happiness was a rare feeling I felt, especially considering the fact my father is very cold and austere, rarely showing any emotion on his face.

I brought my attention back to Marinette and I cupped her face in my hands, wiping away her tears. I sat up and motioned for her to lean her head against my chest, she glanced up at me and asked whether my father really wasn't mad at her or was I just saying it to comfort her.

"Mari, this isn't the first time you've managed to convince him to let me out of the house, remember when you convinced him to let me go to New York with the rest of our class, even though you were really pissed at the fact he wasn't letting me and you did raise your voice slightly, which he rarely tolerates in his house, my father still let me go, and wasn't mad that you had practically shouted at him" I explained "although he maybe will be mad if he did find out that we were doing much more than just talking about fashion designs" I teased.
