a/n: this epilogue doesnt really link with the actual book (well sorta, its a continuation from the prologue), more of a small marichat fluff chapter but anyways here yall go since us marichat stans are dying for a little scene <3

His green orbs always filled Marinette's tummy with butterflies. She couldn't help the blush that colored her cheeks whenever she thought of the green eyed flirt.

Her eyes swept across the sky just as the sun began to set. With the sky painted bright hues of orange and vivid reds, she let out a sigh, setting aside your sketchbook as her eyes roamed the paper. Green eyes stared back at you, the bright green orbs making her heart race. Turning her eyes away from the drawing of Cat Noir, she lay back staring up at the sky, soaking the last bit of rays in before the sun rested beneath the horizon. In that moment, Marinette's eyes shut as she listened to the city streets below.

"If I were to draw myself, I think I would've had muscles larger than that."

Her eyes shot open as she sat up, her cheeks flushing a crimson red as she stammered out a reply, "I um! Cat Noir!" Meeting his green eyes, she saw that they were soft and gentle, his lips forming a kind smile.

Her lips parted slightly to apologize but the slick cat placed the index finger of his right hand over her lips, instantly stopping your train of thought.

"I promised to tell you this as soon as I saw you once more, so don't slip out of my grasp just yet."

The words that left his mouth made her stomach churn with excitement— and fear.

Chat gently held her waist, as if any contact would damage, or even taint, her fragile figure. Embarrassed, Chat looked away from her bright blue eyes to the busy streets of Paris below, clearly sorting out his thoughts. From where she stood, only mere inches separating them both, she could see his gaze sweep towards the Eiffel Tower. Bathed in gold light, the Eiffel Tower twinkled delicately, perfectly perched in the heart of the busy city. After taking a deep breath, Chat Noir turned his face back to hers, the same smile playing on his lips before he spoke.

"I.. I love you. I know that love is a strong word but that's the only word that's... that's appropriate here. Even if you don't feel the same, I won't care. I have 9 lives so I promise to love you harder in every single one of them and cherish you like no other."

Hearing those words leave his mouth, Marinette's eyes widened with anticipation. The sound of her own heart racing echoed through her ears as she sorted her out thoughts. Chat Noir liked her? No, no... Chat Noir loved her? Trying to control her racing heart, she inhaled deeply as if to rid herself of the butterflies that were swarming inside her stomach.

"Chat.. I- I have no idea what to say..." The kitty's ears slightly perked up as she began speaking. "For so long, I've been trying to figure out what I've been feeling and now I definitely know what this fuzzy feeling is." Chat Noir's eyes widened in anticipation as Mari's cheeks reddened, "I... I love you too, Silly Kitty."

Once those words were said, nothing would be the same between either one of them. This made her heart race because she knew for a fact, the kitty was hers. Within seconds, the green eyed boy instantly wrapped his arms around her as he pulled her into a hug— the kind you never wanted to let go from. For the first time all night, Marinette felt his body relax as he enveloped the person he fell in love with and wanted to have forever at his side.
