It All Started On Her Balcony

A/N: I just watched Optigami and I can't believe we got clowned.

AGAIN.

All the spoilers Gloob released with Mari and Adrien saying 'I need to tell you something' really made the fandom think the reveal was going to happen...

...but ofc as usual it was another of Gloob's false alarms 😒

Marinette's POV:

I was sitting behind my desk, feeling the tears well up in my eyes. After my last akuma battle with Chat Noir I realised just how harshly I had been treating him recently and that I should be more patient with him..

*flashback*

"M'LADY MOVE" He yells

Chat jumps to my side, picks me up and runs, as I flailed my arms about in confusion as to why Chat had just suddenly lifted me up- I was in a daze, barley paying any attention to the supervillain that had almost killed me.

He places me on the ground and stares intently into my eyes, waiting for me to say something

"M'lady, are you ok? You seem kinda distant lately and not paying much attention, would one of my puns help, I'm pretty sure they'll get you feline gre-" (ugh not the best pun but get it ig..) He begins

"CHAT I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO SAY THIS BUT YOU NEED TO STOP WITH THESE RIDICULOUS PUNS OF YOURS" I suddenly shout out, louder than anticipated. "Now look what you've done- we've lost the supervillain and who knows where it could be"

Chat's sudden smile faded into a melancholic frown until: "BUGABOO NO!"..

All of a sudden my body went limp and my vision went blurry, all I could hear was Chat yelling "LADYBUG, RESIST HIS POWER DON'T LISTEN TO HI-"

and then everything went pitch black...

*flashback ends*

I figured out that I had been akumatised and that Hawk Moth somehow sensed a negative emotion in me, presumably from when I had yelled at Chat, I let out a sigh and flopped onto my bed, tears streaming down my face now realising the mess I got myself into- I had probably broken mine and Chat's friendship, worst of all I had probably lost Master Fu's trust otherwise why would I have just gotten a warning on my phone saying- wait WHAT?!

I bolted upright in my bed and reread the message a million times over in my head. A warning. From Master Fu. Regarding taking my Miraculous away from me.

"No, No, No, NO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING" I yelled, my kwami Tikki flew up in front of me saying "Marinette, don't stress over it, everyone makes mistakes and it's perfectly fine because no one is perfect, how about you go for a walk to get it off your mind and pull yourself together" I opened my mouth to reply but when it came to Tikki giving me advice and consoling me, there was no excuse to disagree- she was almost like my personal therapist.
(please I need Tikki I would literally die for her #tikkisupremacy)

Walking down the empty streets I felt a gentle summer breeze brush against my face, I was heading to a secluded area where I reached my destination: An azure blue beach with golden sand, I looked up and gazed at the moon; it was clear and bright as the waves were crashing down against the sand. It calmed me a little but I was still on edge. All I could think of was how I lashed out at Chat and the warning I had gotten. We let each other down, it was the closest Hawk Moth ever got to getting the Miraculous and I even got a warning from Master Fu of stripping us from our miraculous permanently.

"Hey.." I heard Chat's voice behind me and I slightly jumped at it, I was about to ask why he was here but I decided to ignore him and pretend I didn't hear him.

This wasn't the first time Chat had led us both into a huge mess all because of how distracted he made me with his puns but this time something hit different, It hurt me more than usual when I saw that melancholic look upon his face but I couldn't quite place my finger on what made it feel different. I was confused with myself and a little mad at him.

"I don't exactly know what happened but I'm sorry, I never wanted to let you down." He chuckled a little "Even if you are the most annoying person I've ever met." I couldn't hold in my emotions. I was always kind of hot headed but this time I exploded "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?" I shouted "WE LET EVERYONE DOWN, AND ALMOST LOST OUR MIRACULOUS" my voice quivered. "What do you mean almost lost our Miraculous?" he asked, perplexed

I whipped my phone out and showed him the message Master Fu had sent me "YOU SEE LOOK WHAT YOU AND YOUR PUNS HAVE DO-" I stopped abruptly mid sentence and broke down into tears, right there....

Well, well, well... how'd y'all find this chapter? (ngl I actually enjoyed writing this part even though it was lowkey sad and I think it's pretty good for my first EVER attempt at writing a fanfiction, I know it's kinda short but the next chapters will probably be longer) Chapter two is gon be up soon so stay tuned you lil beans and stay miraculous :)
