"KILL HIM" "NOW HE'S GETTING AWAY"
Splat.
Another day and another head rolls across the street. The world is something deadly and twisted ruled by the horrible monarchy with the royal family who only looks out for themselves and leaves us "relinks" to fend for ourselves. They wouldn't know true pain if it hit them on their heads. They drip head to toe in jewels, extravagant clothes and think a "problem" is when their seamstress runs out of silk. What makes them different from the rest of us is that they can DEFEND themselves and kill without an ounce of remorse.
They can SURVIVE.
They have ABILITIES.
That's what makes them the royal family. That's what makes them untouchable. I live in Queito. country? Breona. Such an amazing name for a horrible country. A name that used to make people fill with excitement with the thought of simply LIVING there. Before when the benevolent queen Katherine ruled, this kingdom was something to truly something to look at. When the system was fair and poverty was not covering the entire kingdom.
Beautiful.
The Golden Kingdom. The name of the kingdom before bloodstained our hands. Before THEY took over. The royal family is what we call cummundre. One of the oldest legends known to man is that after the pergress war, a war in which humans and dragons came into perfect harmony to defeat the clums. The evil beings that roam that sea that come onto land at night. When humanity won, the gods were satisfied with what they had accomplished and transferred slits of their power into mortals. Some mortal scattered to the ends of the world and the dragons went back to sleep. That was 5000 years ago. So there have been many crosses of power between species and made new species and so on. There are too many breeds to keep track of, so whenever someone asks them they state the two main halves of their origins. The royal family came to power because they got the most power from the gods rendering them to be the most powerful mortals in the land. We call them the golden godlings. One of the ways to identify them is by their light brown eyes with flecks of gold in them. Or if your lucky You can see the small star-shaped mole beneath their jaw.
When Queen Katherine ruled, she was a fantle. She was a blood telekinetic. She can bend living beings to her will and make them dance like puppets. She was a fair ruler, knew what she was doing, established trade routes, and took care of her subjects. She ruled for 4500 years before passing in her sleep. She was probably the most beautiful woman that anyone has ever seen. And the last mended fire ruler. She had tan olive skin, high cheekbones, a jawline from the gods, and beautiful dark gold eyes. The more power someone has in their lineage, the more gold in their eyes. It's called shadow eyes. Ironic right? She was a mended fire ruler. She was a fantle. She was everything out of the ordinary that people adored.
That's what made her unique. When a TRUE ruler is crowned or in the presence of the crown, the crown ignites into vibrant flames that sit upon one's head. But it doesn't burn them. It strengthens their power, heightens their senses, and makes them the best ruler they can be. The only way the crown can be removed is by their hand, or by beheading. But with that power comes greed. This is what happened when the crown sat upon King Gabriel's head and he chose power over kindness and his duty to his subjects.
Where our problem began to blossom. He was Queen Katherine's eldest son and the rightful ruler to Breona. Her youngest son, Aron, fell in love with a common woman and forfeited his birthright to be with her. And the royals considered him no longer fit to hold the title of a prince. They decided they were better than us. After that moment that King Gabriel chose power over the well-being of the kingdom, the crown ignited for no one else. So the succession of the throne went solely based on the next born in Queen Katherine's bloodline.
The crown CHOOSES who will be the ruler. No one knows how, but if the crown rests upon your head and ignites? It forfeits all rights of the person ruling at that moment. But the catch? It can only be placed upon a member of Queen Katherine's bloodline. And trust me. There have been people who have tried to get their hands on the crown only to be incinerated by its flames. Where do I come in you ask? Well, that's where our story begins...
