In Which Rules are Broken

"You still wanna get out of here?"

Lydia hadn't even heard the door open, so intently had she been staring at the back wall of the bedroom and bring to determine if it was a slightly different shade to the rest. When she did register that Leon was stood there holding a weekend bag and looking impatient for her to answer it took another moment to process what he meant; for the briefest time she thought he meant permanently. The disappointment when she realised wasn't as crushing as it might have been - and that concerned her.

"To get rid of ... " she stopped, aware that the door was open and going by the noise she'd heard all morning there were many people out and about, "Really? Malcolm said you could take me?"

Leon look a little shamefaced at that - insofar as she reckoned he was capable of, at any rate - and shut the door behind him.

"No. I didn't even ask him. I know what the answer would be so it's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission. I went to go and see Conor and ask if he would cover for us."

"And he said yes? Why?" she was well aware of the old adage 'never look a gift horse in the mouth' but she was genuinely curious as to why Conor would help her even in a roundabout way when she was pretty certain he thought she was the most useless person to ever exist.

"Do you want to get out of here or not, duchess? I'm beginning to suspect the latter."

She did want to get out, but she also wanted to know why Conor was willing to help, if there was an ulterior motive and if it affected her if so - so she just stared at Leon and waited.

"You're too stubborn, do you know that? We could be out of here by now if you didn't insist on knowing everything. You really want to know why Conor agreed to cover for us? Because he believes I'm taking you somewhere to get you out of my system - and I let him believe that, duchess."

Oh. Well. She didn't quite know what to say to that but it did make the situation more understandable. 

"Are you ok with that? When we get back, Conor's going to think I took you somewhere, stripped you and buried myself inside you deep and long enough to get rid of this fascination that I have with you."

"F...fascination?"

Leon set the weekend bag quietly down on the floor and closed the distance between it and where she sat on the bed. She had the fleeting thought that she should stand to even out the power dynamic but she couldn't deny she enjoyed him looming over her, eyes intent on her face.

"Fascination, duchess. I can't stop thinking about every time I've had my hands, my mouth on you. It shows, don't try to pretend otherwise - and Conor thinks I'm taking you somewhere so I can fuck you as hard as I need to, make you scream my name and not have to worry that someone's going to walk in on us." he put a heavy hand on her sternum, drawing her attention to the fact that she was all but hyperventilating, breasts heaving, "and you know what? I wish I was."

She closed her eyes as his hand slipped lower, skimming the sensitive tip of one breast before cupping her waist in a grip that could only be described as possessive. He drew her up with that hand until she was flush against him, head tipping back of its own accord and eyes opening directly into his.

"So if you're ok with that then we can leave right now."

She knew the direct question was whether she was OK with Conor thinking she'd fucked one of her kidnappers, the fact that - at least in his eyes - she would have ceded yet more power in the already skewed dynamic. But it almost seemed as though she was being asked if she was ok with the fantasy, if she agreed that Leon could take his frustration out on her. And she didn't feel comfortable answering the latter question, honestly. She was perfectly willing to get on her knees for Leon Valentine with the pretext that it might save her - but remove that and it just left her feeling too vulnerable to admit.
