Part Six

The last few weeks had been relatively uninteresting. I spent a lot of my time trying to recreate the world around me but wasn't successful most of the time. The Avengers were beginning to trust me a little more and we're beginning to think about letting Loki out as well.

"Hey kid! Come on let me show you something!" Tony didn't bother knocking anymore, he just yelled for me to come out. Knocking was a time waster apparently.

I quickly jumped from the bed and opened the door for him. He didn't come in, instead starting to walk away.

We walked for a while before entering an elevator. Tony pressed the 14th floor button, a small black widow emblem was stuck beside the button.

"Where are we going?"

"Why ask when we're almost there? You'll see soon enough."

The elevator opened to expose a large living space. Two couches sat in-front of a large television, accompanied by three small wicker chairs. Looking to the other side I could see a medium sized kitchen. The smell of cookies filled the room, a dirty mixer and countless dirty bowls lined the counters.

Tony quick got out of the elevator and started toward the kitchen. He grabbed a cookie off of a large plate before calling for Natasha.

"Natasha... how many times do I have to ask you to clean up after you bake?" He joked.

Natasha walked out from a hallway across the room. "About as many times as I have to tell you not to eat my cookies."

"Mr. Stark, paying for this entire building, the cleaners, the suits, and about everything else, just wants a cookie. You know you make them the best anyways." He retorted quickly.

Natasha turned to look at me.

"Have you told her yet?" She gestured to Tony.

"Nah, kid needs some patience."

I looked back at Natasha as she began to speak.

"Wellllllll I talked to Tony and the board last week, and they've come to the decision that you can move up here with the rest of us"

"The rest of you?"

"We'll, just me on this particular floor, everyone else is spread out between floors too but I needed a roommate, not many female avengers yet." She chuckled.

"Yeah I guess we are lacking a little bit in that side. Well, I've got work to do, I believe you two have your assignments for the day, so I'll let you get back to them."

"They're thinking of letting you out soon." I smiled slightly, he tried to fight it but a small smile crossed his face.

"Are you sure?" Loki asked.

I dramatically stood, booming. "Why of course Mr. Odinson, would I lie to you?" I chucked as I sat back down.

"Odinson? Please Lady Ada, call me Laufeyson, that man is not my father." I could see the look of disappointment he gave, not towards me but towards the man who had raised him.

"Why do you hate him so much?"

"I was never enough for him, ever, he knew what I was. A frost giant, something he could never love, not really at least."

"He was a coward." I told him. "He separated a child from its parents, vowed to raise you as his own, and failed. Framing you as the villain when you didn't fit his narrative."

"Yes, I suppose. At least I no longer need answer to him."

"Exactly" I beamed. As I got up from my seat once more I told him what I needed to do now.

"Okay, so, I'll be gone soon but as a component to your release I need to get in your mind. They want me to find out your motives."

Loki scowled slightly. "Why let me out if you don't think you can trust me then?" He seemed hurt by my request.

"I do trust you, but the others- the others need some more proof."

"Then do as you must." He leaned forward slightly as I rounded behind him.

I touched my finger tips to his as he let down his own barrier. Images rushed into my own mind. I saw Odin, Thor, Frigga, and many others. Frigga's image brought me unimaginable grief, the image of Odin led me into a distasteful hopefulness, and Thor's brought me to an overwhelming feeling of inadequacy. As the images of his family passed, they were replaced with the Chitauri, Thanos, and many other people who had brought Loki physical harm. Eventually I was brought to an image of myself, but I was quickly locked out of a Loki's mind before the feeling could come.

"Are we done?" He asked quickly.

"Umm- n- yes, I've got all I need to make a strong case for you."

"Much appreciated Ms. Ada."

I left the room shortly thereafter, joining the other avengers in the main living space.

"Ahhh there she is, we were just beginning to discuss Loki's possible release." Banner stated.

"I think this is a ridiculous conversation, the man killed so many people, what is he going to do when we allow him 'freedom'" Tony began.

"If I may, my brother has been a very troubled man. I believe if he came to us willingly, then he must be speaking of truth." Thor defended his brother, when Loki had first appeared he didn't believe that Loki deserved our help but as he thought he realized Loki could be genuine.

Natasha turned to me. "I agree with Thor, we've even had our own members testify that the makeup of his mind indicates pure goals."

Hawkeye turned to Natasha, barely acknowledging me. "Yes we have, a girl who is just beginning her own career here. A girl capable of lying to us."

I interrupted quickly "lying?" I walked up to Hawkeye quickly choosing a memory to give to him. I touch his arm and sent the image directly to him, including the feeling that followed. As he opened his eyes with a loud audible shock, I questioned him. "Did that feel fake? Like a lie? Or did that feel like the suffering of a man who only wants to belong to somewhere."

Hawkeye remained silent.

"I think we're coming to a consensus then. Tomorrow I will arrange for Loki's release, with conditions. And tomorrow night he will be given protocol and released." Tony looked around the group to see if there was any objection
