CARLO: haaay. ang layo mo na. namimiss na kita. (replied after 12 hours)
KAT: how are you na? i miss you more! (replied after 10 hours)
One day, Grace, Kat's cousin, saw her cousin crying, she asked her why but Kat didn't answer. 8 years na sa States si Grace. After a couple of days, Grace, again asked Kat what's wrong. Kat finally answered. She said, hindi ko na kaya. I can't take this anymore. Hindi ko siya makausap ng maayos. Isang beses lang s isang araw ko siya nakakausap. Sobrang late pa nag reply namin. I want to know what he's up to or what he's doing at that certain time but I can't kasi nga malayo ako :( But grace had an idea. Kinuha niya ng plan si Kat. Unlimited text and calls with unlimited Surfing to the Internet. Since then, Kat and Carlo's problem was fixed but it did not end here.
After a couple of months, there was this girl named Jampi, Carlo's lab partner, which means, they have to work TOGETHER. So Kat was a bit jealous but of course, she has to understand that school comes first. Until one day, she was very nervous and bothered, kasi hindi nagtetext or tumatawag si Carlo. She thought that something bad might've happened to Carlo, so she started calling Carlo's friends although she knows that it is very expensive to call kasi nga sa Pinas. They said, they haven't seen Carlo in a while and they don't know what he's been up to and what happened to him.
Tatlong araw na, HINDI pa rin nagtetext si Carlo. Hindi rin sumasagot sa mga tawag ni Kat. So, Kat tried to call Carlo's mom but no one answered. She can't sleep nor eat properly. She sleeps at 3 in the morning just coz she was worried. She can't study properly, she's always late to school. Until one day, Carlo finally texted. So Kat was very happy and of course, very mad. Kat asked what happened to him but Carlo won't answer her question so Kat decided to call him.
It was 1 in the morning in California,
Kat: What happened to you??
Carlo: I'm sorry, Kat.
Kat: It's okay. Akala ko kung ano nang nangyari sayo. Thank God you're OKAY.
Carlo: *crying* I'm really really sorry.
Kat: wait, are you crying? and I already said, it's okay. napatawad na kita. so stop apologizing.
Carlo: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
Kat: WHAT THE F!!! you're making me nervous. can you pls tell me what's wrong!!
Carlo: I did something.
Kat: *Teary-eyed* what?
Carlo: I slept with a girl.
Kat: closing her eyes as if she doesn't want to hear anything. She said calmly, WHY?
Carlo: Gagawa kami kasi ng project namin which is due the next day, kaya pumayag ako na magstay muna si Jampi sa apartment ko. pero nung umuwi siya ng dorm, SARADO yung dorm niya. so wala siyang ibang tutuluyan. hindi nmn kasi pwedeng iwan ko lang siya. lahat ng kaibgan daw niya, naka dorm kaya hindi na daw pwede magpatuloy. yung iba naman daw, umuwi na sa bahay nila which means wala na dito sa may school.
Kat: so what happened?
Carlo: naghubad siya sa harap ko. nagulat ako. montikan na may mangyari samin pero hindi ko tinuloy.
Kat: YUNG TOTOO.
Carlo: alam ko hindi ka manniniwala. kahit sinong sabihan ko, walang maniniwala n walang nangyari samin, pero believe me, wala talgang nangyari.
Kat: THE TRUTH, CARLO! THE TRUTH!! *Crying*
Carlo: hindi ko na ipipilit sayo. pero maniwala ka man o hindi, wala talagang nangyari. di na ko deserving sa katulad mo. I'm really really sorry. so if you're going to break up with me, it's fine. I understand.
Kat: bukas nlng tayo mag-usap. *hanging up*
The following day, Kat went online. She saw Carlo online too. Carlo sent her a msg saying, "hey, I'm sorry." Kat ignored him and went offline. After a week or two, Kat finally has the strength to face her fears, she called Carlo.
Carlo: hello?
Kat: hi.
Carlo: how are you?
Kat: ayoko na magpaligoy-ligoy pa. I just want to end this.
Carlo: *he didnt say anything. but Kat knew he was about to cry."
Kat: still there?
Carlo: yeah
Kat: alam mo kung gano kita kamahal. BUONG-BUO TIWALA KO SAYO pero sinira mo and you made a promise that you were gonna wait for me. RMEMBER?
Carlo: I know. wala na akong mukhang maihaharap pa sayo pag-uwi mo.
Kat: OH NO, DON'T YOU WORRY, YOU WILL NEVER EVERRR SEE ME AGAIN.
Carlo: please dont say that.
Kat: like what you said a year ago, "PROMISES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN."
Carlo: *crying* I;m really really sorry. Di ko na hihilingin na maging magkaibgan pa tayo but please, I am hoping na mapapatawad mo ako.
Kat: I really dont know Carlo. HIndi pa siguro ngayon. but before I hang up, I want to ask you something.
Carlo: ano po yon?
Kat: MINAHAL MO BA AKO?
Carlo: KAHIT SINONG TAO O KAIBIGAN KO O KAIBIGAN MO, ALAM ANG SAGOT DIYAN. MINAHAL KITA. TOTOO YON.
Kat: okay. I honestly dont know kung ano ang totoo sa hindi sa panahon na to.
Carlo: sorry talaga kat.
Kat: i gotta go, may klase pa ako. bye Carlo.
Carlo: goodbye babe. alam kong makakabawi ako sayo at mapapatunayan kong IKAW lang mahal ko. just always remember, I'M ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU.
Kat: *Crying*
Carlo: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, THIS AIN'T GOODBYE, BABE :*
Pagkababang-pagkababa ni Kat sa phone, umiyak siya ng umiyak as if niregret niya yung ginawa niya but she knows it was the right thing to do.
After a couple of months, school's finally over. Kat and her mom decided to go back to the Philippines for 3 months. Kat didn't want to go pero pinilit siya ng mommy niya.
