I promised myself a nice and quiet dinner, so I pulled on one of my fancier V-necked dresses, dark magenta with ruffled lace around the edges. It hugged my body, and matched with the dark violet gloves I already had on. Paired with a few silver rings and my curled wig, it was perfect. I tossed on a black chiffon shawl and fixed my dark makeup along with my blood-red lipstick. Nobody would guess I was a witch, and nobody would pay me any mind. They wouldn't be able to tell if it was a witch they were looking at or simply a kind, attractive lady. The only downside was that I couldn't wear my comfortable shoes. Instead I had to deal with the pain of wearing these wretched high heels that were pointed at the end. What I said to Vivian earlier was half-true, I was indeed there on pure business, but that didn't mean I wouldn't enjoy myself at least a little.

"Liebchen, be a good darling." I cooed while setting him down on the large, queen-sized bed. He meowed at me, probably not understanding a word. With that, I stuck on some jewelry that added a little bling. When I looked in the mirror, I allowed my face to reveal its true form for a split second. My mouth opened from ear to ear with a sinister smile. I groaned with relief, feeling relaxed to be myself. It felt deliciously evil to do so, but I knew I couldn't spend all afternoon admiring my hideous face no matter how much I wanted to. Closing my unnatural smile, I rubbed my lips together so that I could hide it again. When I was satisfied, I walked down the stairs of my enormous living space and out the door. I had already called my chauffeur to drive me. The elevator ride downstairs was much better without anyone to accompany me, and I was glad for the release.

But that feeling... that senseless feeling was back. I frowned as I felt it corrode my insides once more, the feeling of emptiness. I recognized it to be emptiness just after the incident I had caused in the airport. I brushed it off, trying to ignore the nagging persistence inside me. I wasn't empty! I was fine! I was diabolically fine and evil! Eviler than the devil himself! And with that in mind, I was proud. I walked with my chin high as I exited the building and went on my way. The restaurant I had in mind was about twenty five minutes away, but I had been there several times, and I can truthfully say that the food was worth it. The limo pulled up slowly to it, and I stepped outside. In front of me, the golden letters of the restaurant read, "Le Bernardin." It had bulky outdoor seating that was shielded by a glass covering above it. The doors were spinning, but I walked through without any trouble. It was quiet inside the restaurant. There was slight jazz music playing in the background, and I scanned around to see if there were any other witches in the mist.

Of course, Vivian had already spread the word, so there were none. The only people I saw were glove-less women and ignorant men. "Can I help you, Madam?" A young man standing in front of a long black table asked me. "Reservation for Eva Ernst, table for one." I told him straightforwardly. He smiled at me politely, not knowing who he was looking at. "Right this way." I didn't smile back, but I did watch him grab a menu. He led me to a marvelous table right next to a wide glass window. While doing so, I noticed that the majority of customers were couples. Normally I wouldn't care about such a thing, but this once, I could feel their eyes on me as if questioning why I decided to come here. I vaguely understood the purpose of relationships. However, I didn't understand why they needed a man to have dinner with. Either that or they were marveling about how fabulous I appeared in my dress. Not that I would blame them for that. Nevertheless, I was focused on my upcoming meal.

The man pulled out a chair for me, so I sat down. "Your waiter will be right with you." He told me. I half-smiled at him before deciding to look at my menu. I breathed in to make sure there were no children in the area, and to my delight, all I smelled was the scent of food in the air. It was already dark outside, so the chandeliers gave off quite the brilliant light. Everything about it was glorious.
