Year: 2nd year at U.A. High School
Appearance: Haru is a tall young man standing taller than some of his juniors, but being shorter than some like Mirio and has a noticeable muscular build from training. He has short, spiky black hair and red eyes that seem to sometimes glow with his Quirk. Some girls have remarked of him being a lady-killer.
During his time at U.A., Haru wears the standard male uniform with the white shirt, grey blazer and green dress pants and wears brown shoes. Rather than a tie, Haru instead wears a bandana around his neck.
On off days he'll generally wear casual attire. While his shirt is always changing, Haru usually wears a leather coat or lighter coat depending on the weather and will usually wear jeans with sneakers or sandals. Much of his wardrobe was made to make sure it didn't burn from his Quirk.
Haru's hero costume is a red and black bodysuit with orange gloves and metal wristbands which he can use with his Quirk. He wears a red mask and a grey mask on his mouth with straws connected to it and the water bottles he keeps at his belt for cooling his body down. He wears blue boots as well with holes at the bottom which he can send flames through to fly with.
Haru's second costume is a full black bodysuit with red lines around it and a red belt. His mask now has black lines while keeping his mouth guard it's changed to just hold water rather than have Haru keep water bottles. His gloves are grey with holes in the knuckles so that he can use his flames through them and his boots are now grey also and have holes in the bottom.
Personality: Haru is like his Quirk implies, hot blooded and ready to take on any challenge. He faces any problem with a headstrong, but brave and logical approach. During many battles he's known to be light hearted and witty as he makes a lot of quips at many people's expense in order to throw them off balance. Haru is also kind-hearted, notably to those who have earned his respect and friendship like Mirio or Izuku and to his family as he's done a lot to help his grandfather after his accident.
As the grandson to a retired hero, Haru knows many of the laws and procedures of the hero business since he's helped his grandfather's agency. This has helped him a lot with teaching the younger students of U.A.
One of Haru's noticeable traits is his highly approachable and charismatic personality. Haru is always encouraging his friends and allies to do their best with his motivational speeches and determination. In addition with this he always encourages and supports his friends and their goals like Izuku who know what they want and work to succeed in their goals. It's this that he tries to inspire in Izuku. However, Haru isn't above using Aizawa's methods of 'logical ruses' in order to get someone to be able to do something.
In spite of his hot blooded and witty personality, Haru is actually more intelligent than he lets on. He's able to analyze his opponent's and their Quirks to be able to decipher a plan and a counterattack. All of this is what's helped him become one of the best students in the school.
Regardless of his kind personality, Haru can still get angry and certain people, but it's rare for that to happen though. In rare moments when he does get angry, Haru sometimes breathes fire from his mouth. A lot of people mention that an angry Haru is a scary sight.
Despite all this, Haru is not without his inner demons. It's been shown that Haru suffers from nightmares of Shizu's death and has shown PTSD and survivor's guilt cause of it. This is also shown when Haru drops his usual joking self whenever his friends or loved ones are in serious, life threatening danger as the thought of them dying reminds him of that day.
Quirk: Eternal Fire: Haru's Quirk allows him to create and control flames he makes at will and shape them in anyway he wishes. He's even shown he can eat fire to increase his power, except for his own flames. There isn't a full limit to how much power he can put into his flames, however too much use can dehydrate his body so he has to drink a lot of water if he uses his Quirk too much. Haru also needs to limit his powers at times since too much output can make it go out of control burning down everything and everyone within the area. Also Haru can't use his Quirk as much while in water or in the rain.
Abilities:
Martial Arts: While skilled with his Quirk alone, Haru is also a good fighter thanks to help from his grandfather and in contrast with Shun, tends to use his hands more for fighting. He learned different styles such as Krav Maga, Systema, Aikido, Karate, Judo and Boxing and tends to use these with his fire.
Overall Abilities: As the strongest student of his class, Haru has enhanced strength, speed and durability. The latter is greatly noted as he had fought against Mirio Togata during his first year and even after taking multiple blows to the stomach still kept fighting against him until he couldn't. Haru's speed and strength are also attributed to the training he received from his grandfather from a young age and he's fast enough even without his Quirk's help.
Keen Intellect: Haru is able to deduce his opponent's Quirks as well as weak points in their styles and techniques and tell what they'll do. Haru mentions Mirio helped him out more with being able to strategize during fights. His intelligence is also shown with him developing his mask specifically for his Quirk.
Charisma: Haru knows how to talk people and knows how to get them to do something. Whenever one of his friends or the people he's with are having their doubts, Haru is able to get them to keep going with one of his rousing speeches. Some wonder if he rehearses them before he says them or if he makes them up as he goes.
Cooking: Haru is noted to be a good cook by a lot of people, this is mainly because his mother tends to work late a lot and his grandfather's accident made it difficult to move around. So Haru learned out to cook and is always experimenting with different recipes he can think of.
Heat and Fire Resistance: Due to Haru's Quirk being fire, he's able to handle extreme heats and other fire Quirks.
Super Moves:
Phoenix Crossfire: Haru's signature technique. He throws his arms back and ignites them with fire. He then sends them forward in a cross shape before the flames take the form of a phoenix.
Burning Dragon Claw: Haru forms fire around his hand in the form of a claw and then slashes his opponent.
Burn Dash: Haru forms flames in front of him in a dash attack.
Fire Wall:
Burning Twister: Haru spins around in a tornado of fire surrounding him. He's used this as an offensive and defensive tactic.
