Appearance: Ren has black hair that is spiked up in places with light skin and purple eyes similar to his sister and father. He's relatively tall roughly an inch or so taller than Kyoko with a lean and athletic build. Ren generally wears the standard uniform for Hope's Peak, but he wears a black shirt instead of white under his jacket and wears red sneakers however he sometimes will forgo his blazer. His most common casual wear is a blue vest over a white short sleeved shirt, blue jeans and his regular sneakers, but at times he'll also wear his former school's uniform jacket.

Personality: Ren, as his supposed talent implies, is hard to pinpoint at times. He's polite, intelligent and more expressive in his emotions when compared to his older, more reserved twin. The only people he seems to have issues with are Byakuya, because of his arrogance, Hiro, for his tactlessness, Junko, for her 'lively' personality and at first with Kyoko because of family issues. In spite of his positive traits, Ren can be snarky and sarcastic towards people and some note when he gets angry he can be almost as intimidating as Kyoko.
His generally open and caring nature allows him to make friends with most people, notably his friendship and brotherly bond with Makoto. While Ren does agree to some of Makoto's more optimistic and forgiving traits, he also tries to balance out Makoto's nature by telling him of it being alright to be angry and holding people accountable for their actions. These shown that while Ren does believe with hope, he's also realistic about the world and knows sometimes that some actions can't be forgiven or forgotten so easily as he's dealt with much of that. People point out that some speeches he gives them are very helpful and help with overcoming some issues as some of his classmates jokingly call him their 'dad.' Because of this Ren, along with Makoto, is generally the one to keep his friends together.
Because of the thought his biological parents got rid of him because they didn't love him at all makes Ren a little bitter with his biological family and initially he had trouble with even holding a conversation with Kyoko due to this. Eventually, Ren slowly let's go of this after learning more and begins to start accepting Kyoko as his sister shown by his playful and affectionate teasing with her. He still has a ways to go with his biological father however for it. It's unknown to his feelings towards his mother and grandfather.
Ren views his talent as not even a real one and doesn't hold much attachment to it, often times introducing himself without it to students and when he does he generally says it with a sarcastic tone added to it. Because of his club jumping in his old schools, Ren's got a number of different skills to use and help his classmates and being around a lot of different people has given him insight to some of their mental states and how they think in order to empathize with them. This is what got him interested with learning to become the Ultimate Psychiatrist.
However, one of Ren's biggest worries is trying to figure out his own place in the world and what his real talent or what he wants to be in life. His going through many clubs was a means to figure what he could be, but he could never truly decide what it was he wanted. This has made Ren question if he belongs in the academy or if there's even if he has a future of any kind. but his friends encourage him that no matter what he decides to be it's his choice fully.

Class 78 (As a whole): Ren generally gets along well with all of his classmates. While he has issues with a few namely Byakuya, Junko, Toko and initially Kyoko, Ren remains cordial and respectful to them. As someone who tries to break up arguments and deal with conflicting egos as well as being someone to look after the rest, Ren has an almost Team Dad like role in the class.
Makoto Naegi: Makoto was the first person Ren met at Hope's Peak and Makoto has been Ren's best friend since that day with the two almost being like brothers. Ren is always encouraging and supporting Makoto and help him gain confidence and Makoto clearly appreciates it. Ren commonly will refer to him as 'Koto' or 'buddy.'
Kyoko Kirigiri: Kyoko is Ren's older twin sister. Initially Ren's relationship with Kyoko wasn't so pleasant. Before the two could barely be in the same room with each other keeping quiet at best and making silent snarky remarks at worst. Overtime though the two do grow closer with Ren being a bit more open with her and keeping his snarking to affectionate and friendly levels while Kyoko tends to be a little more tender and caring towards Ren at times.
