My..my, settling in yet, young [Y/N]? You are in a much better place than being outside in the cold, or so you say. I cant help but wonder what draws you to these predicaments. It so happens to be that you are always at the right place, at the right time. I suppose we will never know what fate your good luck has saved you from or if that fate is better then the one to come. Even as the Duke, I wonder about these things and if fate is only something we create and make our own. Lets keep reading your little adventure, shall we?
You gazed at your hand, trying to figure how and where the blood came from. "This will have to wait another time, I need to get ready for dinner" you say. After getting off the bed, you walked over to the bathroom to wash your face, neck, and hands. Your hair and clothes seemed presentable, so you left them alone. The bedroom door creaked open slightly arousing your attention. You peeked over to see Cassandra's maid from before standing at attention, waiting for you to finish up in the bathroom. You yelled "I'll be right out in just a minute!" so the maid could hear you from the other room. After drying your face off, you leave to meet with the Maiden by the door.
You walked behind the maiden as she guided you through the upstairs hallway. She was just as lifeless as you remembered her being when she led you to the guest room. It was such a mystery to you why she never spoke much of anything or why her mannerisms seemed so unenergetic. "It was nice of you to show me around today. I'd probably get lost here without you help" you joked. It took awhile for the maiden to respond but she eventually left you with an uneasy reply. "I'm glad to assist you in helping you find you way, but I'm only here to make sure Lady Cassandra is pleased." This answer had you wondering how strict these women actually are.
As you both made it downstairs to the main hall, you heard loud giggling and arguing all the way from the dining room. It eased you to hear that they were in a good mood. "I have brought our special guest, [Y/N], Lady Cassandra as you requested" the maiden said. She curtseyed and walked into the kitchen to help with meal preparations. You were about to speak but Daniela shrieked loudly at your presence and she signaled you to sit next to her right away. "Ahhhhh [Y/N] is here! sit with meeeeee!" Cassandra smiled and pulled your chair out for you to sit between them before saying"You clean up very nicely, [Y/N].." You sat down to see the plates for five people, two forks, three spoons, and two knives. You were slightly embarrassed about which one to use so you whisper to Cassandra since she seemed to be the most understanding. "s..so which one of these do I use first? I've never eaten with so much silverware before.." Cassandra leaned in to whisper back "Just follow my pace and use what I pick up first, lovely."
Your attention was brought towards the kitchen as you heard crashing and yelling. A woman in the same attire as Cassandra and Daniela walked out with a pot in her hands. She had light blonde hair and yellow eyes as well. Her expression didn't seem soft like the others, but more stern and angry. "Daniela, I told you no more books at the table!!" the blond women yelled. Daniela moved her book off the table "Hehe, sorry Bela I just had to finish this chapter it was so good! I would of finished awhile ago but I had to help our guest with something." The blonde woman whipped her head towards you and sat the pot down onto the table. "So you're the reason why I had to prepare tonight's supper by myself?" Cassandra looked slightly annoyed and placed her hand on Bela's shoulder saying "It wasn't [Y/N]'s fault for us not helping much in the kitchen. We had to greet our guest properly and their head wound looked like it needed attention." Bela walked over to you and leaned closer to look at the bandage on your forehead before flicking it. "well.. lets hope your apatite is bigger than this wound of yours..[Y/N]."
You wince in pain as your wound stung and Bela gave you the most devilish grin in response. She walked over to her chair across from you and took her seat, proudly folding her arms. Cassandra leaned to take the lid off the pot and you heart sank. It was the most foul thing you have ever smelled. Bela looked very displeased by your reaction to it and Cassandra took your plate, giving you the first serving of the meal. You waited till everyone had their plates filled before attempting to taste the meal. Using your peripheral vision to mimic Cassandra, you reached for the correct silverware to dine from. After the first bite, your eyes watered. It was tough like steak but flavorful in the worst way. Bela was already on her second helping. You heard a fly buzzing under the table, and a leg rubbing against yours, then you looked over to see Daniela watching you, not touching her food yet. "I don't think I've ever had meat like this before" you say. Cassandra holds a napkin to her lips before replying "That's because its human meat."
