I sat in the desolate cellar at the mansion that once housed the Malfoy family. It was now used as the dark lord's HQ. I sat there in perfect silence and my mind began to wonder. To places it like to go. I sat there and look dead ahead before hearing the clink of keys and the door opened. After that in walked Pettegrew. I sneered but stood.
"Miss Grindelwald", he said and then motioned for me to follow. I did so and was met with the once beautiful ball room, that was now in shambles. I stood and waited.
"So you work for the order?" Voldemort asked at one end.
"No sir", I said simply. I didn't. I worked for Grindelwald.
"Are you involved with them at all?" he asked.
"No sir", I said again my voice flat and tired. When in the cellar I didn't dare sleep for fear of not waking up.
"Ah Severus", he spoke as I watched the raven haired man walk into the decrepit room. "Please escort Miss Grindelwald back to her house and make sure she tries nothing. I have my trust in you", he commanded and Severus looked at me with a facade of stone. He grabbed my arm roughly and we walked out to the gates where he stopped once we were outside of the premises. Once out of sight of any windows in the mansion Snape stopped and looked at me loosening his grip on me and then looking down. I apparated back to my small apartment and we both stood in the small kitchen.
"I know what you may think of me", Severus muttered, "I'm sorry", he whispered. I moved to the gas stove and turned it on placing a pot to heat up on the burner.
"And what should I think of you?" I asked moving to the fridge and pulling out carrots, celery, an onion, and some chicken breast. I started to cut the vegetables.
"You probably think I'm a monster now", Severus said then took off his outer robes leaving his black dress shirt and slacks.
"You're a double agent Severus. I can't help that. And you're not a monster- you're too, too.., well too you to be a monster", I said pouring olive oil into the pot and sautéing the vegetables. I turned off the heat and cut the chicken after that turning it back on to add the ingredient and then making stock with hot water from the tap and some bouillon.
"But you saw what they made me do", he said still leaning on the counter far away. Once I added spices and egg noodles I put a lid on the pot and set the timer. I turned on my heel and walked in front of Severus. He looked to the side not looking me in the eyes.
"Look at me", I said he didn't comply, "look at me", I said again touching the side of his face.
"Y/N I hurt people", he whispered leaning into my touch.
"You didn't have a choice", I answered and stood on tip toe for a quick kiss. He smiled ever so slightly- if I had blinked I would have missed it. I wrapped my arms around him as he laid his head on my shoulder. Suddenly there was a burning sensation on my left shoulder. "Augh", I grimaced sucking in through my teeth. "Sev I gotta go I'll be back soon", I said leaving a chaste kiss on his cheek. I apparated to the castle and waited for the doors to open. When they did I walked in to see it was only me who had been summoned.
"Y/N", Grindelwald said, "are you alright?" he asked looking at me with concern.
"I don't even know anymore", I groaned and fell into an arm chair. "It's hard to explain. The man I loved needs to be fixed again. I'm probably going to burn my dinner and I've been held captive for over two weeks by Voldemort", I muttered. Gellert watched me.
"Voldemort is an odd one. He's too harsh", Grindelwald said, "if anything he keeps copying me. It's annoying. It hate copy cats", he waved his hand around like he didn't care. He pulled a cigarillo from his breast pocket and lit it with his fingers.
"What do you want Gellert?" I asked eyes half opened.
"How do I kill the git?" he asked as smoke puffed out of his mouth as nose.
"You can't someone else is already trying", Gellert gave me a sad look, "Christ Gellert don't give me that look- you can't leave the castle yet", I groaned. He held up his wand to make his eyes look a little bigger, "you look like a frog", I said smiling slightly.
"Frogs are bitches and we do not negotiate with death eaters... Ooo tell that to voldy when you see him next. No better here", he took a pice of parchment and wrote his quote down. I face palmed and took the note before apparating home to see Severus with two bowls of steaming soup.
"Why is my family so weird?" I asked. Resting my head on the table.
"No idea", Severus said rubbing my back.
"Im gonna kill him", I muttered.
"Please don't kill your cousin", Sev responded.
"Oh sev!" I said taking out the parchment, "I quote "Give this to Voldy next time you see him" from my dear old cousin", I smiled reading the handwriting and then looking at the signature.
"Frogs are bitches and we do not negotiate with death eaters", Severus read out loud, "my god the man's mad". I cracked a smile and started eating.
Le time skip brought to you by bitchy frogs
"What did he think?" I asked as Severus came back from a meeting.
"He thinks Grindelwald is off his rocker", he responded sitting on the other end of the couch and then leaning sideways so his head was in my lap. I smiled and started playing with his hair. "Y/N", Severus said from bellow me.
"Yeah hun?" I said looking down.
"I love you", he said.
"You you too bubs", I said and pressed a kiss onto his forehead. Severus sat up and then picked me up and pressed a kiss onto my lips before walking to the bedroom and throwing me on the bed and diving after me under the covers.
