" psst, wil, it's time to get up buddy."
philza gently shook his sleeping son. he needed wil to get up so he could get ready to go to work, but wilbur didn't want him to leave. "i don't wanna.." he said in a soft, small voice as he tried to tug phil's arm back to bed. phil seemed to understand what was going on.
"hey, if you get up now ill make your favorite cereal and you can eat with ducky," phil insisted. "no!" the little threw the covers over himself, making a sound which indicated he was annoyed. "mate you need to eat breakfast. if you dont eat you wont be a healthy boy." philza tried again but no answer. wilbur continued hiding under the covers. if he kept up with this he knew he was going to be late to work.. then he got an idea.
"well, i guess me and ducky are gonna go have breakfast by ourselves... oh no! look at how sad he is!" he picked up the duck plushie from the floor and made it seem like it was crying. his plan miraculously worked and the little peeked out from under the covers. "okay.. breakfast time." he sat up and reached out to get the little stuffie. after wilbur got out of bed, phil took his hand and lead him to the kitchen.
wilbur quickly went to go sit down in a chair waiting for his cereal. he still seemed upset but phil didn't know why. he grabbed both bowls of cereal off the counter and went to go eat with his little. as he went to give wilbur his bowl, he pushed it away and crossed his arms.
philza sighed, "wil i need you to eat, okay? im gonna be late for work if you dont finish eating. please eat." wil sunk into his chair, very obviously upset. "i dont wan' you to leave.." he mumbled. at this point phil realized he couldn't leave him at home alone, wilbur was very little right now and he needed him to be there for him.
"okay, you know what, dadza will stay with you-but only if you finish eating!" phil smiled. wilbur immediately lit up. "okay!! m' happy that you stayed, me an' ducky didnt wanna be alone t'day..." the little confessed, which made dadza almost melt. "aww, that's okay mate. im gonna be here all day today, ok? c'mere." phil replied in a soft, quiet voice, extending his hands out to the little for a hug. wil went over and gave his dad a very big hug.
the rest of the day phil took care of the little, they played and watched cartoons together.
