She took Slalzar in as her own child 2 years after he was abandoned by the Slytherin family as he didn't show any magic until he was seven (i.e., she took him in when he was 9 years old)
Adira was said to be the most powerful true seer ever alive, so much so that she even foresaw her own death. Unlike other seers, she felt that destinies could be changed and she used her gift to help many others.
