Heartbreak Healer

There they sat, staring off into the distance waiting on their date. Edgy had been waiting for 30 minutes now... But they were desperate. They were in love how could they not hold on to ever ounce of hope?
Another 15 minutes... No sign of their date... Feeling nothing but defeated, Edgy slowly flew off their perch, holding back tears as they softly reached the cold, sorrow filled concrete. Slouching over, heartbreak filling every bone, Edgy walked home.

Edgy looked around frantically, brushing off any trace of tears. No one. They turned back, trying to forget the noise, but there it was again.

Spinning around, Edgy caught a glimpse of a bushy tail. Then thick, brown fur, and big black circle framed glasses.
There he stood, 7 inches tall... Edgy was baffled. He was almost two times their size.
They tried to blink away the pained expression that was still plastered on their face, how could they let him see them like this?
It was too late, Simon knew. He always knew when something was wrong with Edgy.
Looking at them concerned, he reached out a fur covered hand and spoke sweetly, "Hey... I saw you waiting... That girls a jerk."
Edgy sniffled. This was humiating. They had waited on that girl for 45 minutes and Simon saw everything...
"Hey it's okay Edgy, I'm here for you," Simon said, reaching a tender hand to Edgy's cheek, smiling down at them.
Edgy couldn't help but blush... There's no way Simon didn't see. Their dark grey nose becoming pink under the moonlight.
Simon smiled, he hugged them tightly kissing their cheek, "Have a goodnight shawty~~"
Edgy watched as he disappeared into the woods, his blue hoodie slowly fading into the darkness along with his thick and bushy tail.
