Edgy couldn't get Simon out of their head. Why did he kiss me? Did he mean it as more than friends? Was it just to cheer me up?
Quickly they fished out their phone, no new messages from Simon. They sighed.
Typing out a message to meet up, Edgy paced back and forth. Deciding not to send it they erased the message, he can text first...
Hours went by. No word from him.
Bzzzt bzzzt
Finally! Edgy raced to their phone, quickly unlocking it.
Mom: Dropping off some dinner, be there in an hour or so! ❤️
Edgy cursed under their breath. They shouldn't have gotten their hopes up...
~~~
Knock knock knock
Edgy furrowed their brow, it had only been half an hour, their mom couldn't have gotten there that early...
Wearily, Edgy made their way to the door. Taken aback, they let the door swing open.
There he was. Right in their doorway. He was at their house.
Simon smiled, his glasses slowly falling down his muzzle as he glanced down at Edgy, who stood with their eyes fixed on him. He quickly gave them a kiss on the fourhead, welcoming himself in.
He was carrying a basket that he set on the counter.
"H-Hey," Edgy managed to spit out, heat flowing to their cheeks. Simon wasn't wearing his usual hoodie... This time, he had on a tight blue t-shirt that hugged his frame perfectly. His abs pressing against the fabric just enough to show off their perfect sculpture.
He smiled again, running a hand through his hair, "I brought you this gift for any troubles I might have caused last night." He picked it up again, offering it to Edgy who gladly took it.
"Thank you," they said, words still shallow. This was a lot for them to handle.
"Hey... I didn't just come here to drop off this basket..." he said, his tone becoming serious as he fumbled with his paws.
Edgy looked at him confused, fidgeting with the button of their top.
He looked around quickly, "I was wondering if maybe you would want to get something to eat together?"
Edgy's eyes twinkled as the grin became unbearably noticable. "Of course!" they shouted a bit too excited.
Simon chuckled, reaching a hand out to Edgy, "Tonight at 6 sound good?"
They took his hand but frowned, "Wait... I forgot, my mom is supposed to be here in a little bit, I can't go tonight."
Simon's smile faded for a moment but became even brighter, "How about tomorrow? We will have a bit more time together, I'll pick you up at noon and we can go to the lake."
Edgy beamed, "That sounds amazing." Their heart was racing as Simon's hand stayed tightly around theirs.
"See you then," Simon whispered, slowly loosening his grip on their hand and making his way for the door. "I can't wait."
