The sun was blazingly hot, bringing steaming sweat from Labi's head and entering his eyes. He rubbed both eyes, but the sting would not go away. In his haste to find relief, Labi ran into the house and into the kitchen, intending to use water to rinse away the salty sweat from his face. However, he had unknowingly entered the wrong room - his father's room, which no one was allowed to enter. Fear gripped Labi, for his father, Chief Oyewole, was a no-nonsense man and was strict with his rules. Despite this, he had a special soft spot for Labi, his only son. Chief Oyewole was not only rich and prominent in the town, but he was also well-versed in spiritual matters, which was why he did not allow anyone to enter his room.
Chief, as he was popularly known, was a tall and sturdy man with dark skin and a handsome face. His jet black hair was still shiny despite his age, which made him quite popular with the ladies. When Labi heard his name being called, he tiptoed to the entrance of the room and froze in place.

"Labi!"

Iya Ronke gently entered the room, looking around for her beloved son. She noticed he was not in sight and wondered where he had gone. She then decided to check his favourite spot and, sure enough, there he was, fast asleep on the floor.

" Why is he fast asleep? I thought I saw him when he entered. He's such a handful." Sighed.

She left the room mumbling. Labi smiled and stood up from where he had been laying. He dusted his clothes and as he was about to step out ,he felt his head swelled and his eyes seemed to move of  their own accord to see something...
