Chapter 1: Paradis

What a day, I told myself as I let myself plop on the bed. Thankfully, The Braun Family has some kind of connection to the Queen Historia, and she gave us a place to stay for now. Mrs Braun even told me that apparently other Family's of soldiers from Paradise stay in this neighborhood too. I didn't get to meet my neighbors yet, and I am kinda curious what they actually are like. I am still unsure how to feel about everything that happened. Losing so much left a huge feeling of emptiness inside me. But seeing Paradis for the first time, thinking about how there used to be titans everywhere, gave me shivers. I will never get to see my family again, never get to see them smile again, never get to hug them again... But being here on this Island just gives me a feeling of sadness. I can feel it in the air and see it in the faces of the people. They suffered a lot. Most of them probably lost just as much as I did. Suddenly a wave of sadness overcame me and my head started to hurt. I should probably go to bed soon, since I promised Mrs Braun, I would go to the bakery we saw today when we arrived, to get some things for breakfast. She told me her son is coming over, and she wants to prepare some snacks. She even gave me some money. I should probably find a way to get money soon, since I depend on her way too much. I decided to drink a glass of water, hoping the headache would go away, but in the end I was so exhausted from today that I feel asleep before even knowing it.
