Deku's POV
Combat training. Heroes vs villains. Me vs Kacchan? Oh boy... this can only go well... then again.. this might be the perfect opportunity for me to basically face my fear! He was my friend at childhood but then got his quirk and hung around the wrong people. So he became my junior high bully and then basically a traumatic memory. So this will be good to face him. Now.. if I remember correctly from what I've observed of him, he won't stay with the bomb and he'll come right after me now that he knows I have a quirk now. Since I know he'll be wanting to know as much as he can about where it came from and how the hell it came to be.As if on queue, Kacchan came from around a corner me and Uraraka were about to get to. The moment he did his famous right swing, I managed to dodge quite easily with Uraraka in my arms. He ended up blasting the wall instead after we hit the floor. I sat up
Me: Uraraka, are you all right?
She sat up soon after
Uraraka: yeah, thanks
Half off my mask was gone. Uraraka looked to me and noticed
Uraraka: Deku?
I reassured her quickly so she wouldn't worry
Me: it's just a scratch
We both looked to the cloud of dust made by Kacchan's blast as he swiped his arm and cleared most of it away, revealing him standing there
Kacchan: come Deku, don't dodge.
By that point, I was already on one knee trying to stand up.
Me: I figured you'd come for me first.
I start to get up fully as Kacchan comes charging at me yet again
Kacchan: I won't do so much damage that this fight gets stopped, but I'm gonna get close!
He once swings his right arm at me. To which then I ended up grabbing that arm whilst he looked confused. I turn my body so that I've got more strength to bring him up and over my shoulder. I soon flung him up and down onto his back in front of me with a yell. I'm done dealing with his bullshit..
Me: I'm done Kacch- no.. Bakugou... I'm done having to deal with your bullshit just because of what I was during Junior High. Years of our childhood basically wasted.. why? All because of one silly thing that is common but at the same time uncommon. So fuck you, Bakugou.
I did it.. I said what I've wanted to say..
Bakugou looked at me with shock clear in his eyes. I simply just glared back at him to let him know it was all true. The journey of following Katsuki Bakugou ended a long time ago. And now it's finally been known.
Me: my "Deku" isn't always going to mean "useless"! From now on my "Deku" will mean "you can do it"!
After he had sat up whilst I was speaking he was glaring at me for the last part. And for a second I could've sworn I saw his eyes turn into an amber colour with slit pupils. But only for a split second. What was that..? He soon began to get back up. I sent Uraraka away to the bomb once he had come at me again. Let the battle commence...Timeskip because I'm too lazy to write out the entire fight (also, I'm gonna switch something up a bit in this scene)
The lesson was over. Everyone was getting ready to make their way back home. After I had left the building I noticed Bakugou still stood at the gate. He left earlier, I thought he would've been home by now. As I had reached the gate Bakugou walked up to me
Bakugou: Oi, Deku!
I turned to him with a slight glare that, surprisingly, made him flinch a little
Me: you lost nickname privilege a long time ago, Bakugou. I just never got round to telling you. So cut the crap and go back to calling me Midoriya
He stood there speechless as his breath hitched slightly. He growled before speaking up again
Bakugou: what the hell is your game here, hah?! First, you trick me into thinking you never had a quirk and then y-
I put my hand up to shush him
Me: I'm gonna stop you right there, Bakugou. I never tricked you. Yes, I was quirkless. Had the double toe joint and everything. But it suddenly came around not long before the entrance exams so I took a chance. I'm an extremely late bloomer. If that's all you had to complain about then I'll be heading home now
Just as I was about to start walking off again he suddenly spoke up
Bakugou: you think you're better than me you damn nerd?! HUH?!
I stopped moving. I soon scoffed then looked to him with a look that said "you serious?"
Me: no, Bakugou, it's not about whether someone is better or not to determine if you're a hero. What makes you a hero is courage and emotional strength. And if you think it's all a competition then perhaps you should start reconsidering your choice into choosing this life.
I then, finally, started walking off away from Bakugou, who was stood there with a dumbfounded look. I felt proud of myself for finally standing up to him. Though I was also anxious on what was to come in our future training with him. And also to what I would have to tell mom if she ever asks about him... but it was still a huge weight finally lifted off my shoulders. The sun was starting to set as I was walking towards the train station. Today.. was somewhat a good day.A/N
I know it's out late but I was trying to think of what to do different for it. Sorry it's shorter than the other two but I will start working on the next chapter straight after this is published so that I can get it out there for you guys. I promise. Stay safe everyone!
