Lohem

The wind blows, like dancing fairies
The river is ever strong
The sun shines brighter than the moon
Listen to the warriors song

"Papa! Your home! Mama look Papa is back. He's alright!", cried the voice of an innocent girl. "Sweetie I've waited so long to see you! Come give your Papa a hug!", says the man. A woman walks outside from her scent filled kitchen. "Zekariya?", she says. The woman gestures to her child to go inside. "But..Mama!" "Now child!" she lovingly said. The child forcibly complies. "Nurat" says the man "We won the war. But they want to offer something for a peace treaty." "You mean," "They're clan is crumbling. They have run out of lohem's." "Did we eradicate them all?" The man slightly chuckled. "No, they have given up. They don't want to fight. The age of war is over." "But why are they giving us their son?" "Nurat, they're clan leaders have died, killed by some unknown enemy. The child is orphaned. And the clan has crumbled, all the people are joining other clans. No one will take him" "How old is the poor child?" "3 years older than ours. He will be a fine brother. We shall treat him as our own. His parents might have been our enemy at war, but lets not forget that at peace they were our dear friends. I haven't an idea what made him go to war. And you know I didn't want to fight them one bit, but when attacked, we will fight." "When is he arriving?" "Tomorrow, prepare a room for him." "Don't worry, I will make him at home." "Wonderful!" "Now go tend to your daughter, she has waited a long time to be with you", she laughs, ushering him into the house. "Darling, come I'll tuck you into bed." He says to his very tired daughter. "Ok Papa." They both walk slowly, but soon hear the sounds of hoove beats. The father looks down worriedly at his daughter. Not sure why anyone was out so late. He asks one of his maids to get her in bed, and assigns a guard to stand outside her door. He walks out quickly to see who it is, he walks out the front door and sees a black stallion. The rider covered in all black, but frankly he was not looking at the rider, but more at the child with him. He was young, around eight years old. He was very pale, his skin shined like the moon. And his hair was raven black, a stark contrast from his face. He was sleeping silently, he looked so peaceful...almost too peaceful. The rider tells him that the boy, son of the opposing clan, was almost assassinated...if not for him. And they decided to bring him here earlier. Just in case, someone wanted to...hurt him.
The man gladly welcomed them inside. The rider was the boys personal guard and would be staying with him at all times. The boy woke up and was led into his new home by the man and his guard. They went inside and passed a living room and kitchen until they reached a set of stairs. They went up the polished wood stairs and were met by a long corridor. They're were 4 rooms. One obviously for the adults. They passed the door closest to the stairs, and the boy saw a girl peeking through the door. She smiled at the new boy. He meekly returned it and followed the man to his new room, next to the girls. They didn't know how much their lives were intertwined. This was not the beginning of true love, but of a kinship so strong it could stop the greatest of wars in their place.
