Our Month (Althea x Shinpachi) [Modern Au]

Part I

It was pouring outside, with no signs of life on the gloomy street but some occasional cars passing by. As Althea sighed in disappointment while blankly looking out her foggy window. She was stuck deep in thought. She was thinking of her best friend, Shinpachi. Shinpachi and his sister were set to move next month which left Althea's mind in a uproar. She practically only survived in high school because of him. With him she had a sense of comfort and couldn't imagine him not there for her. She and Shinpachi have been friends since childhood, hence their close bond. Althea's thoughts suddenly came to a stop after hearing a hurried pounding on her door. She starts to wonder who it is, but in the middle of her thought her question was answered for her as she heard a bark followed by a human whining.
"I'm coming! Stop your whining!"
"WOOOFWOFOFWOOFWOOFOQOFOOKKDrailme"
"Hurry up Althea! The take out I brought along is getting soaked!"
As Althea opened her main door the red head girl hurries in, practically pushing Althea aside. It was Kagura, Althea's other friend. In Kagura's hand was her dog, Sadaharu and a bag with take out boxes. Althea lets out a yelp as she falls on her flat behind.
"ALTHEA I BROUGHT FOOD!"
"I'm down here.."
Althea winces as she rubs her non existent behind.
As Kagura looks down she has a confused expression written on her face.
"What are you doing down there? Didn't know you bow for your visitors now.."
Althea glares at Kagura as she walks towards her kitchen and slowly rises her self.
"WOOFOWOOFOWOOFWOOFOODOFODOWOOF"
"Okay, okay Saraharu it's nice to see you too."
Althea slowly reached down to rub Sadaharu's head but was interrupted by the dog taking a piss on her leg. Althea soon grabbed the dog by the collar and chucked him outside with a soft grin on her face. Althea was too unbothered to change her pants and she had a piss kink anyways so it was fine.
"Althea how are you holding up with Shinpachi leaving?"
Kagura managed to say with food shoved in her mouth.
"Meh.. I guess."
Althea shrugged but knew her mind said other wise.
When Althea first met Kagura, she declared herself a princess while asking Althea if she had any spare change for some food from the school's convenience store. Althea's first instinct was to say no since how weird this girl was but Shinpachi quickly intervined and gave her two hundred yen with a big grin on his face. As Althea looked at him, her eyes sparkled and her cheeks quickly turned bright pink. The three of them and their other close friend have been inseparable ever since, but that's sadly going to change. As Althea starts to think about Shinpachi leaving, her mind goes blank.
"Your face says other wise. You clearly want him to stay."
"Is it that obvious.."
Kagura nods while shoving a chicken drum in her mouth.
"I just can't imagine him leaving.. I didn't even get my chance to conf-"
Before Althea could finish her sentence she was interrupted by a mysterious figure pounding on her door.
"I'm coming, hold on!"
As Althea opens her door she saw Shinpachi's elder sister, Tae. She was drenched in rain and her hair was soaking wet, but the thing that stuck out the most was her puffy eyes.
"Tae? What's wrong?"
"It's Shinpachi. He's b-been hospitalized.."
