Ramez Manor sat in its grounds within the heart of Knightsbridge. It was perhaps one of the largest residential properties in the UK, definitely the largest in London's Royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Beyond the gates was a manor with hundreds of rooms, built with ancient roman architecture in mind. It was the epitome of beauty tied with luxury- a home that was unforgettable to all those that had the opportunity to witness it. Some would say it was like a home out of a fairy tale.
But just like every other family, the Kayani's had their own hardships that came with their wealth and success. Some superficial and temporary, others long living or even permanent. It is in this way that life works; good and bad must balance. But indeed, with hardship comes ease...

South west London had a charm of its own, captivating all those who set eyes on it. Its beauty felt surreal almost, but it was beautiful indeed, whether the sun be rising or setting, or whether the rain be falling, pitter pattering on the rooftops and leaving little cascading droplets water on the windows as it was on this dull mid autumn day.
This evening, Altamash Kayani was sat in his study. It was perhaps the most important room in the substantial manor, situated in Knightsbridge, that his family called home. The room where every single business deal made by Kayani Corp. had been arranged for over two decades. It was the room that had always put a smile on his face, reminding him of the success he'd been blessed with.
Altamash was staring out of the huge floor to ceiling window opposite his desk. If you paid attention, you could see the Shard, Big Ben, the Gherkin and every other skyscraper that made up London's skyline.
Tonight, Altamash was lost in thought.
For the first time in his life, Altamash's best friend and business companion, Daniyal Afridi had asked him for help. Altamash had so much. He thought sometimes it was too much. There were millions of people out there, who spent their evenings sleeping in the rain, praying for it to be their last night of suffering. Altamash thought about these people every day. He opened numerous shelters and tried to help the community as much as he could. But there was only so much he could do.
He thought about these people not because he'd been one of them, but because Daniyal Afridi had been. As a child, Daniyal Afridi went through poverty after his mother left his father. Daniyal was an example of a person that inspired Altamash. He'd achieved so much when he came from nothing. Altamash was born into wealth and knew nothing outside of it. Daniyal fought day and night to become the person he was.
He met Daniyal when he arrived at Harvard Medical school on a scholarship. It had been perhaps over thirty years since then. For the first time in those all those more than thirty years, the Daniyal that Altamash was eternally indebted to, the Daniyal that has and would move mountains for Altamash, asked him for his most precious possession. The sole thing that he couldn't bear to give away.
