This is my home, the Crimson Dragons Castle of the Kouka Kingdom.

I've been living here since I was a little girl. I was found on the streets by King Il and his queen, and they took me into their home. There I met my three best friends, Princess Yona, Hak, and Lord Su-won. We spent every moment we can together, and we never grew apart. I could never imagine what my life would've been like had they not found me.

This is a very big week! Princess Yona's 16th birthday is in 6 days. It will be a very big day for both her, the king and the kingdom.

Author's POV:

"This year marks the 10th anniversary of the death of my father, the great King Joo-nam. Our cherished land of Kouka is a small kingdom with powerful neighbors. We have been plunged into wars with them countless times in the past..." King Il speaks.

Naomi's POV:

"Hey, Naomi."

I jump at the sound of Hak saying my name. I was paying so much attention to King Il's speech I wasn't being aware of my surroundings.

"Uh-yeah Hak?" I respond, blushing a little with embarrassment.

"Where's the princess?" He asks.

I glance around for a moment and notice that Princess Yona is still not here. Which means she must still be in her chambers.

"I think she's still in her chambers prepping herself."

"Oh that's right. Must be because HE'S coming today," Hak says. His eyes droop downward and his weapon leans against his shoulder. "What a child," he muttered.

Author's POV:

"My daughter, Yona, will soon turn 16. For her sake and yours, I pray that my ancestor, the Crimson Dragon King, will continue to shower blessings upon our beloved nation forever!" King Il declares to his people, who all cheer with joy.

"Long Live King Il!! Long Live King Il!!" The crowd chants.

Yona's POV:

I hum as I stare at myself in the mirror after trying on the robe I had on. I'm having a difficult time trying to find something that would match my bright red hair.

"You look absolutely stunning Princess," Min Soo, one of our servants, complimented, "Please forgive my rushing you but we should be there already."

"Not yet, this isn't right," I said slipping the robe off, "what did I do with that new calico chintz I had on before?" I question as I hand one of the maids the robe while I search for the other one.
