Author's POV:

"Hak," Princess Yona muttered Hak's name, causing him to turn around to see Princess Yona and Naomi looking at him.

He kneels before them and apologizes to Princess Yona, "Please forgive me for leaving you all alone earlier, but I'm here for you now."

Joy filled up inside Naomi as she smiled at Hak. She knew that he couldn't have been on their side, and his loyalty to the king and the princess was just too strong for it to be overcome by Su-won.

"You mean you're not with them?" Princess Yona asks him with hope in her eyes, "Are you still on our side, Hak?"

Hak chuckles at the silly question but replies to Princess Yona's question, "You know what my orders are, I promised your father I'd protect you. Nothing about that has changed tonight," Hak stands up and stands tall and strong in front of the princess and Naomi, "No matter what happens, I'll keep you safe."

Kye-sook, with an amused smirk on his face, steps forward. "Watch your tongue, mongrel. You're talking to the new master of the Crimson Dragon Castle, King Su-won!" He proudly introduces Su-won as the new king.

"King? Who's the master of where now?" Hak questions them. "What is this? Some kind of game you're playing to amuse yourself? Where is King Il? Shouldn't he be out here enjoying the fun with you?"

Everyone became silent after Hak asked that question. Sadness, dread, and guilt filled the princess and Naomi's hearts. They remembered the king's dead body lying on the ground with no sign of life whatsoever. But Su-won, however, was glad to tell his old childhood friend where he was.

"He'll have no more fun, I sent that bastard to hell moments ago."

Hak then slammed his staff into the concrete floor, causing a dent. His blue eyes harden with anger and disbelief. All the guards surrounding them backed away, fearing the lightning beast's rage. After all, there's a reason why he received that name.

"You must've had too much to drink at the party," Hak spoke sternly, trying to keep himself from acting out, "Even if you're joking, that's going too far."

"Why don't you ask Yona and Naomi what happened? They were there, they watched the king right in front of them," Su-won brings the two young girls into the conversation.

Princess Yona whimpers at the reminded memory playing in her head while Naomi tries her best to comfort her and sends Su-won a death glare that could burn a hole through his head.

That's when Hak finally snapped. He lets out a war cry and charges at Su-won, swinging his weapon at him, which Su-won blocks with his sword.

"I've had enough of your lies!!!" Hak yells at Su-won.

"Every word I've said is the truth," Su-won grunts as he strongly blocks Hak's weapon from him.

"Monster!! How could you murder the king in front of the princess and Naomi and then brag?! I'll kill you!! There's no mercy for what you've done!!!" Hak rages at Su-won, swinging his blade again at Su-won, who blocks the attack with his sword and jumps back.

"Master Su-won!" Kye-sook calls out to his future king with worry.

"You stay out of this," Su-won orders his advisor, "step closer and you'll end up dead. The man standing in front of us is Son Hak."

"A most dangerous opponent," Kye-sook mutters, knowing the reputation of Hak.

"Yes, he's one of the five generals, the pillars that serve the backbone of this kingdom," Su-won explains Hak's position at the castle.
