Yona's POV:

5 days had passed and today a banquet was held for the celebration of my 16th birthday.

I was dressed in my usual dress but with a beautiful light purple robe with patterns of cherry blossoms on it. And on the top of my head, was a golden grown ornament with a jeweled flower on it. Unfortunately, my bright red hair is not obeying me today, and on my birthday of all days.

Anyway, three noblemen were standing in front of me, wishing me a happy birthday.

"Happy sixteenth birthday princess, may it be full of blessings," the three of them wish for me.

I nod to them in gratitude and told them gratefully, "Thank you all."

After they wished me a happy birthday and we gave each other a quick bow of gratitude and respect, I rushed over to my father, whose face brightens up as he sees me. "Having fun dear?"

"Why yes, thank you," I said to father but then I complain to him about my hair, "but my hair is extra unruly today, it's my birthday, it should obey me."

"Always the hair," Father sighs in discontent, "why do I even bother talking to you anymore."

But then, instead of paying attention to what my father was saying, I see Su-won looking over here and waving at me.

"Su-won!" I called out his name and rush over to him.

"Wait!" Father tries to stop me. I turn my head towards him for a moment but brush it off and continue my way to Su-won.

Author's POV:

King Il sighs as he watches his daughter run off with his nephew somewhere. If only she knew the reason why she couldn't be with Su-won. But alas, it was his secret to burden.

"Your majesty," Min-soo grabs his attention with a tray of two wine glasses, "Care for a drink?"

"Just what I needed, thank you," He thanks Min-soo with true gratitude in his tone and on his facial expression as he takes one of the wine glasses from Min-soo's tray.

Yona's POV:

Su-won took me outside, away from everyone at the banquet hall, where it was just the two of us.

"Um, was there something you wanted?" I asked him, feeling curious about why he felt the need for us to be alone.

"Let me see your hand," Su-won instructs.

I give him my hand and he places something in it. It was a beautiful hairpin with a big pink flower and a purple butterfly lying on top of it. "A hairpin."

"Sorry for pulling you away from your party, I wanted to give it to you in person to see your reaction, I hope you like it," Su-won spoke.

"It's beautiful but," I trailed off at first but told him my reason for why I could never have a hairpin as lovely as this, "with my unruly red mane, I don't think I could wear something like this. Only someone with pretty hair could pull it off."

"What?" Su-won sounds stunned hearing that, then he smiles and caresses my hair, "I think your hair is amazing, breathtaking. Blazing crimson, just like the blush of dawn."

I gasp and blush at the compliment he just made about my hair. 'Well that was easy, all it took was one compliment from him and suddenly I love my hair,' I thought in my head as I smiled lovingly at Su-won.

But then our moment was ruined by a certain annoying insulting general. "Hak!" I yelp his name, jumping back in surprise at his sudden appearance.
