It was a early Friday morning , a thick fog still laid on the town but sun shinned bright. I pushed the chairs under the tables and walked over to the door and flipped over the closed sign to open.
It was a usual morning for me , opening up the small coffee shop in the little village I call home. I walked around to each table to give them a quick clean down. I've been working in this small coffee shop since I was young and here I am years later
I've grown up this small town my whole life , it isn't the most eventful place but the beauty of the place makes up for it. The population of the place is low and there's not many other teenagers in the town. I have to take a bus to the closet school everyday which takes about 40 minutes.
Today we were given the day off so I offered to help at the coffee shop. News spread through the town quick enough for me to hear that a camera crew were coming to film in the small village and wooded area. So since it would be busier than usual I offered lily , the owner of the coffee shop a extra hand.
I've know lily most of my life she's like my second mother to me so when we offered me a job when I was younger I took the opportunity. She's watched me grow up from when I was only crawling to know. I am almost done my last year in school and sometimes it shocks me as to how time has flown right past.
There are 4 of us working at this coffee shop. Me , lily , Sophie who is Lily's granddaughter and just finished collage and Rose who has recently been married and just back from her honeymoon. I've been working with these woman for years.
" morning Y/n " rose said smiling at me as she tied her apron.
"Morning rose , busy day today for a change " I smile back.
"It will be quite a change for us" she laughed.
I walked back over to the counter and put down the ragged towel I used to clean Down the tables. I leaned over the counter and looked out the window and started to daydream like I usually did.
"Morning girls" a perky voice intruded my thoughts
I look up to see Sophie skipping over to me. I laugh at her childish antics. She stopped in front of me and patted me head.
" daydreaming again I see Y/n " she giggled
"When am I not " I laugh back.
Sophie was always perky durning the morning , she always gave off a energy that had a good effect on us all. Anytime she would walk into a room everyone would be full of life , laughing and enjoying themselves.
" what time is it ?" I ask Sophie tilting my head slightly.
" it's around 9:30 " she said looking down at her watch on her wrist " so people will probably start coming in soon "
As if on cue a woman with dark hair and a baseball cap with a clipboard walked in and sat down on one of the chairs.
I straighten my self up and flatted my apron , I pick up my small notebook and a pen and start to walk over to her.
" Hi my name is Y/n and and I'll be your waiter what would you like to order " I say smiling.
" Could I have one latte please " she smiled up at me.
" anything else ?" I ask
" no thanks " with that I was off and went over to rose who was in charge on making the drinks.
" one latte please " I ask her.
" on its way , looks like someone else just walked in " she said nodding her head in the direction. My eyes followed to see where she nodded to and they soon stopped , my eyes widen.
