Becca's pov

"Okay, I have to go. Stay safe, don't go near any weird guys, make some friends, and the most important bit, have fun!"
My sister was really worried that I couldn't make some new friends, which was kinda rude in some way... I mean I get it 'cause I'm not that social.
But still, I'm 19, I can live on my own and make some friends, right?

"Yes, I will. Thanks for helping me." I smile at her thankfully.
"You're very welcome." She said as she put her arms open asking for a hug.

"Text me when you arrive!" I say when her back was facing me.

That was it

now I'm alone

**

I was back home and to be honest, I really didn't know what to do.
School started tomorrow, which was kinda stressful so I needed to enjoy my last day vacation.

I hoped Dylan was awake, it was 9am so that means it was around 5pm in San Francisco, I think?

"Hey honey, how's London?" I smile when I hear his voice.

"It's nice, Billie was here to help me 'to make this place feel like home'.

"That's typical Billie, haha."

"How are you?"

"I'm fine, it's just weird that you're so far away." He didn't sound convincing.

"I know, but next year we'll be together again, right?"

Dylan's mom is sick and he needs to save some money, so he works in a bar this year but next year he will also study in London.

"I don't know, Becca. I really need to save my money for mom and going to London isn't going to help with that."

I knew there was something wrong.

"Yeah, I get that but I thought that you also wanted to go to London?"

"I don't know anymore, maybe you should come back?"

"What do you mean you don't know anymore? We sorted this out. You know that living in London has been my dream since I was 12. I'm not coming back for just a boy."

"So I'm just a boy to you?"

"Dylan no you know I didn't mean that like that." He always looks for some stupid excuses to be mad at me.

"No no it's okay, you're also just a girl to me.
Bye Becca"

Before I could speak again he hung up.

Ugh, why are boys always like that? He knows damn well that he isn't just a boy to me.

I tried to forget the stupid discusion we made. First I tried to sleep a little but I just couldn't stop thinking about school and Dylan, after I realised that it was useless to just sit here and do nothing, I got ready for the day.

I took a long shower, put some clothes and mascara on.
I texted a bit with my little sister, Cara, she was complaining that she had nobody to talk to.
Mom and dad were working very hard (as always). And my brother, Vic, and his girlfriend, Ella, were very lovey dovey (as always). I felt bad for her, Cara was someone who needed action and something to do but with a family like ours wasn't always possible.

When it was 11am I decided to go outside, getting to know the city a bit. I stepped one step outside and I heard my phone buzzing.

"Yes?" I say annoyed.

"wohoow someone's moody"

"June?"

"Yes idiot, don't you recognize the voice of your best friend anymore? What's wrong?"

I guess I could tell her now about what happened with Dylan, maybe she had some good advice.

"Trouble with Dylan, again" I rolled my eyes and I could feel she did that too.

"Ugh,I can't stand that little shit, what did he do now?"

I laughed at her comment, she never liked Dylan.
I explained everything, hoping she knows what I should do.

"Drop him."

I guess I didn't hear her good 'cause I just saw that the elevator was broken, so I had to take the stairs. yay!

"what?"

"Drop him, he isn't good for you, Becca. He doesn't make you happy. You can get better."

So I did hear her right.

"He makes me happy, what are you talking about?"

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah?"

"God, June, what's your point?"

"My point is that you deserve better, someone who gives you butterflies, someone who turns your world upside down if he only smiles at you, someone who gives you freedom."

"Freedom? Dylan gives me freedom."

"Oh yeah? When was the last time you went out?
Without Dylan." She adds.

I didn't know, Dylan was pretty protective.

"I don't need to go out without him."

"Oh dear god, Becca, we both know that that is a lie. He is always super protective, you could barely hang out with me."

She was right. I hated that.

When I was thinking about what I should say, I saw the girl that was standing 2 days ago in the elevator.

"Hey! You're the new girl right?" She said with a thick british accent.

"Got to call you back, June, bye."

"Bye Becca, think about what I said."

"I will." I said as I hung up the phone.

I really needed to think about it.

"Yup, that's me." I responded to her.

"Nice to meet ya! I'm rose."

"Hi Rose, I'm Becca."

"Are you feeling a little home already?"

"I'm working on it, I'm gonna get to know the city a bit now."

"If you need anything, I live on floor 4." She smiled friendly.

"Thanks, I will remember it." She seems really sweet.

"See you around, Becca." She stepped upstairs.

"Bye, Rose." I walked downstairs, I really didn't know what to do now. I need some food so I think I'm going grocery shopping.

***

When I was back home I called Dylan.

While I was getting lunch in a cute little park I found, I thought about Dylan.
About his good and bad points.

good points:

He helped me through a lot, when Luke, my twin brother died, when my parents were too busy to raise their kids,...
He's hot

bad points:

He clearly doesn't wanna live in London, but I don't wanna go back to San Francisco, so that's a little problem.
Dylan didn't always make me feel happy, he did some rude stuff too.
Maybe I was too generous with my chances I gave him a lot of chances, a lot...

June was right, he's pretty protective. He flipped when I told him I was gonna move to London.

He didn't answer the phone but I got a message.

*I'm in the hospital, call you asap.*

*Alright, we need to figure some things out.*

*I know.*

A/n : if you have a boyfriend like Dylan,
Drop him!

Fun fact: June is based on my bestfriend, I love ya <33

Anyways,

Stay safe
Lots of love
