"Right this way, master Isako." The man bows to me, leading me inside of the house.

"Arai-San, how many times do I have to tell you that just Isako is fine?" I chuckle, giving him a thin lipped smile and he returns it.

"Even if that's what you wish to be called, I'll lose my job." He lets out a small breath.

"Oh, trust me. You can call me a stupid, slutty, bitch and they'd applaud you." I pat his back and he tries not to laugh.

The sound of my heels clicking against the floor bounce off the walls of the empty corridor as the two of us make the walk to the dining room.

Arai bows and the two men standing outside of the room also bow before guiding me in the room.

"Long time no see Isako-Chan." The woman sitting at the table smiles a little, motioning for me to sit down.

"That's literally the ugliest honorific to come out of your mouth." I purse my lips, sitting on the other end of the table from her. "Why did you call me here? I'm a busy woman yanno?" I cross my legs, leaning back in my seat.

A few butlers come out and place a bunch of food before us and I bow my head as a thanks.

"I see you still have that mouth on you." She chuckles softly. "Some things never change."

I quickly say my thanks, not caring about the fact that it's rude to start eating first.

"And as disrespectful as ever." She sighs but I shrug, cutting a slice of wagyu.

"Sorry. Mom and dad didn't put me in those super fancy etiquette classes like they did to you. So please bare with my poor mannerism, Master." I say sarcastically.

To be honest, if I wasn't being fed I would have left already. But a free meal? Who's going to pass on that?

My sister sighs, shaking her head as she begins to eat.

"I feel like you blame me for your troubles. We used to be so close as children, remember? You'd always call me your big sister and I'd take you everywhere with me." She frowns and I purse my lips.

"Yeah. Until you let our parents brainwash you. Do you even remember what you said to me the last time you seen me? You said, and I quote, 'You are a disrespectful, worthless little girl. Mom and dad abandoned you because you'll never amount to anything in life.'" I raise an eyebrow, setting down my chopsticks and crossing my arms. "And all I did was say that mom and dad are bad parents. You think that's very sisterly? Did you expect me to come here like, 'Michiko-San, you're the bestest older sister ever! I love you!'? Because that's not happening." I deadpan and she scoffs.

"You'll be accepted back into this family if you just act right. You always have such an ugly temper and that's why you're not welcomed here." Michiko mimics my movements, crossing her arms as well.

"No. I will never be part of this family because I'm a product of an affair. I was hated the moment mom found out she was pregnant. The only thing I heard growing up was how much of a disappointment I am for just breathing. You were the only person on my side other than the butlers and maids." I stand up, taking a deep breath. "I don't know the real reason why you invited me over today but I'm not staying long enough to find out. I'm already stressed enough as it is so please do not contact me again unless someone is dead."

I bow at each worker before exiting the room. I see Arai at the end of the hall and he walks towards me.

"You lasted longer than we thought." He notes, a look of amusement on his face.

"Oh? You guys betting on me now?" I ask and we both laugh.

Arai and I begin walking back to the entrance of the house and I let out a long sigh.

"Your family thinks you're unreasonably moody and disrespectful." He says once we exit the house. He always makes sure to walk me all the way to my car.

"Lots of people think that." I shrug, looking over at him. "Do you?"

"Of course I don't, kid." He ruffles my hair and I giggle. "Well- you are disrespectful." He purses his lips as we stop in front of my car.

"Though I've seen first hand what you've been through, so I completely understand. I think your parents are lucky. You could have turned out much worse." He laughs and I sigh softly, nodding.

It's quiet for a few seconds before I bite my lip, looking up at the man with furrowed eyebrows.

"How's dad doing?" I ask quietly and he frowns.

"You guys aren't talking?" He asks and I quickly shake my head.

"No, it's not like that. We text often and he calls from time to time, but how is he? Tell him to stop sending me money if he's not working right now. Last time we talked about work he was struggling to find a job." I say worriedly and Arai puts a hand on my shoulder.

"My brother is fine- don't worry." He assures me, smiling a little. "He got a new job. So that's why he's been sending you extra. Should we send a picture to him? I'm sure he'd love to see you."

I agree and he wraps an arm around my shoulder, both of us smiling for a picture. We lightheartedly chat for a moment before he suddenly gets serious.

"Isako-San, do you have a boyfriend?" He asks and my eyes slightly widen at his change in mood.

"Uh, no?"

"A girlfriend?"

"Sadly no, why? What's going on?" I ask. Whenever Arai is serious it's never really a good thing.

He sighs, leaning down to whisper in my ear.

"I'm unable to give details...but I've heard some talk. You may be hearing from your mother and father soon. If you need anything or anywhere to go- you tell me or my brother right away okay?" He says before pulling away, his face hard and his lips pursed. "We love you, and we are very proud of how far you've come. I've got to run now, alright?" He pats my head a few times before quickly heading back into the mansion.

I try to call out to him in order to gain more information, though he soon disappears back into the house.

What the heck is going on?

(Aaaaand here we have some background info on her parents

They're the head of a really big company and the wife had an affair with Arai's brother who was one of  their house employees at the time. Obvi husband was mad and Arai's brother was fired, couldn't find work for a while but then got a new job. He recently quit that job which is why Isako didn't want him sending her money anymore.

Isakos real father is physically absent from her life because her parents are very powerful, manipulative people and didn't want him even coming anywhere near them. He loves her very much and supports her financially (she gets absolutely zero financial help from her mom and 'dad')

And the media don't know about her because she was only allowed in family shoots like, twice.
