Today things were simple. Black and white so to speak. There wasn't an in between. There was only bad or good. To say he had a choice in which he would pick would be a fools gander at today. Things change, sure, but, today has already been set in stone. There's no way to say that he chose to wake up and decided to come clean no, it was decided when he did the deed. Would someone understand? Yes, of course. Humans are curious creatures and their standpoints are strange and distorted at times. Often unexplainable, some are completely just and see that even if they thought he was in the right, it doesn't matter. The crimes he had committed- he had to be punished.

Balance.

"Virge, you don't have to do this. We can help you, there's no need to throw your life away." Virgil stayed quiet, shaking his head at his life long friend. "No-" "Virgil this is no longer up for debate, I'm not letting you do this." Remy stood up, towering over the emotionless Virgil. "I-" Virgil ran a hand down his face, sighing, Remy would be in the group of views that have been distorted, and biased.

"Okay. Yeah, y-you're right." Virgil scoffed, nodding at the now relieved Remy. "O-okay! Sleep, let's sleep its late." The taller man grabbed a blanket handing it to the purple haired male, who accepted it graciously. "G'night Babs. We'll, uh, talk about this more in the morning." Remy smiled sweetly before turning out the lights and leaving Virgil in his living room. A heavy sigh escaped the man as the sound of heavy footsteps faded away.  He laid down on the couch, bringing the blanket over his mid-section. The darkness that engulfed his vision played tricks on his eyes as what looked to be shades of green flashed through the room in waves.

He once again awoke, feeling more tired than before, bringing his mood down even more. He had just killed his fiancé a few hours prior. Why the hell was he not in some psychotic breakdown. He checked his phone. 12:00 am. A new day.

This day could and would be simple, and Virgil knew this way before he entered the police department. Way before he saw a happy curly haired blonde typing away on the computer. The man looked up noticing the doors opening and smiling, but in that concerned way. "Hiya, kiddo... Is everything alright?"

Good or bad.

"I'd like to report a crime."

Sinner or saint.

"Okay, and what crime would that be?"

Simple or complicated.

"A murder."

It's all set in stone.
