Aftermath

-Dreams pov-

Tw: Mentions of injuries, blood.

I barely got any sleep that night, I was worried about my mother but a bit of weight was lifted off my shoulders since I knew my siblings were in good hands.

When I arrived she was in a hospital room, hooked up to a machine and oxygen. The skin around her eyes looked like it was starting to bruise, there was a cut across her face, blood dripping from the gash. Crimson liquid was spilled on her hand, and she was very pale. It was horrifying, there were more injuries but I didn't pay attention to that. She was breathing and that's all that mattered.

It was around seven am, I had gotten an hour of sleep, and I was worried as can be. I was sitting in a chair, anxiously waiting for her to wake up. It could be a few days till she did. Who knows? A doctor came into the room, a clipboard in hand, they went and looked at the chart, marking a few things down and I decided to ask the question, "Do you know when she'll be awake?"

They looked at me with wide eyes and then their gaze softened, they had dark hair and timid movements, I read their name tag and it read 'Sykkuno' and a small word underneath that read 'Volunteer' . Interesting name, probably didn't want to go by their actual name which makes sense, a lot of workers here do that. "I-I um, she should be awake before sundown, o-other than that I don't know what to tell you." They answered me, stuttering slightly, I nodded and thanked them, just then another person came in, another doctor. Hearing the door click, I saw them. They had long, caramel brown hair, and their nametag, positioned on the right side of their chest, read, 'Rae' also seemingly a volunteer. Both looked around my age, Rae was familiar. I believe I've seen them near the field before.

"Sykkuno, you are needed in Julie's room, she wants you to read her a book before her surgery." She hesitates and looks at me for a moment before speaking again, "Wait, hi Clay, what are you doing here?" I gesture to the bed and they make an 'o' shape with their mouth. Sykkuno makes his way out of the room, the door clicking shut. "So um, you're Rae right? And what are your pronouns and what are Sykkunos may I ask if you know them and they are alright with sharing? I don't want to get it wrong." They nod their head, seemingly being pleased with my actions. "I am, and thank you. That is very respectful, mine are she/her, and Sykkunos are he/him. " I nod my head and she does as well. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

"So, who's Julie?" I look up at her, she had mentioned Sykkuno going to read her a book and I was curious, "Oh, she's child here at the hospital, I won't say why because I'm not sure if she would be ok with that, but she's eight and loves when Sykkuno reads to her." I nod, "That's really sweet. Does he go to our school? I think I've seen him before but I'm not sure." She looks at me, "Yeah, you have probably seen me since I cheer with a few of your friends, and Sykkuno, you might've seen him with Corpse, who is also on the football team." Ah, Corpse yeah, he's on the team and makes sense that that's where I've seen Sykkuno.

"So what's up with you? I heard that you've been talking to the kid who just started coming here." I hum and respond, "Yeah yeah, he's a really interesting person to get to know, I'm glad I met him when I did. He's been hanging out a lot with the rest of my friends as well, I think he enjoys us, well I hope so." She nods her head, "Maybe I'll introduce you to some of my friends, I think Toast, Lud, and Brooke would like to meet you and your guys' friends. Corpse and Sy as well."

I nod my head and look back at my mom, she was breathing steadily now, the blood was mostly cleaned up, still a sight to see, eye still bruised and she was connected to a machine.

I hoped she was going to heal quickly and painlessly.

~Dristas / Terras Pov~

The only update I've gotten from Clay was that she's breathing and it'll be okay, she has a surgery later and her left leg is fractured, Sapnap and Quackity fell asleep on the couch together, Ranboo let me sleep with him in his bed since I was terrified, though I think he was more distraught than I was. George and my dad were trying to figure out what to do, my dad taught George how to cook which was nice, even though it was around 1am, not like we were sleeping well anyways, since he had mentioned never having the chance to learn before.

Ok, but, I never noticed till last night that my brother sleepwalks, it's kind of funny, he started mumbling something about a tub? Maybe I don't know, before getting back in bed and sleeping.

It was around 10 in the morning, George was finally asleep, Ranboo was awake and we were sitting on his bed just chatting, in silence at some points. I don't think my dad is asleep, and I believe Quackity and Sap are still sleeping.

"-re you good Terra?" I zone back into the conversation, "Yeah, yeah, I am, so uh, what do we do?" He shakes his head, "I don't know." I smile, "Did you know you sleep walk? That was funny." He laughed and responded, "Mhmm, Tubbo told me I did it, and I haven't really ever slept around anyone else outside of my family." Makes sense, Tubbo is probably one of his closest friends.

~Pov change and time skip again, heh~

~George's Pov~

I was probably more worried than I should be, I mean this is Clay's mum, I learned how to cook, it was a lot harder than I thought but useful nonetheless. I got a text saying something along the line of 'it's gonna be alright' from Clay, I'm worried for them both, the stress he probably feels, and the pain his mother is in.

I was drained, last night I didn't sleep very much, learned how to cook, which distracted me a bit, but now I'm pacing around the kitchen, calming myself.

It was about quarter past noon, I slept about an hour, it was miserable. I was half asleep but the next minute I was wide awake. I had no idea why I was like this. I then received a text from my mum, it read,

Mum

Hi honey, I know you must be stressed right now about Clay's mother,

but I have an idea to keep your mind off of it,

I have someone I'd like you to meet.

My eyes widened, who would I meet? I know all of my mothers friends. I wanted to be there for Clay but he's told me there's nothing for me to do at the moment. So I texted her back,

Me

Mhm, sure, it might be good to distract me.

Mum

Perfect, could you be at the house in 15?

Me

Yea

Ok, let's see how this goes.
