She was a nerd herself. She thought she would be setting herself up again to be used and bullied. At the time of writing that, I thought I would be writing a second part to this book where it would give more insight to y/n's background, but I didn't. She would also end up being best friends with them in that nonexistent sequel.
tldr: she didn't wanna get bullied again bc she got bullied real bad 😻 at her old school

But best character was Cory ngl. Except for when he was being so forceful about Shawn liking Y/n. It made sense, though, for my portrayal of his character.
I feel like I had the best understanding of Cory's character because he was a little annoying, but funny sometimes (or that's just how I perceived him).
