"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" That is what I jump awake to. I groggily rub my eyes as I see Ian, Alaia, Aster, Ellie, Joel, Lev, Tommy, father, Cat, Jesse, Dina and Maria in front of me.
"A good birthday gift is letting someone sleep in," I say with a small smile. I sit up and look at the piece of food Aster has in her hands, "What's that?"
"Well we couldn't find a cake so we got a bunch of cans of fruit and a fruit... cake-ish," Aster says with a grin. I chuckle a bit, grabbing the 'cake' and eating a bite. I look over at Dina and smile.
"Hey Dina, I haven't seen you in a while,"
"Yeah, I've been on bed rest and haven't been able to leave the house," I raise my eyebrow when she says 'bed rest' and she's here. She catches my look and smiles, "I never said I was good at it," I chuckle lightly at her. Jesse stands next to her and throws his arm around her.
"I spend most of my days telling her to lay down. Babies gonna come any day now," I smile lightly at him before turning to Aster who's just staring at them. I nudge her a bit and she turns to me with a small smile.
"Happy birthday," Aster whispers giving me a hug. Alaia follows after her and then Ian.
"Happy birthday bud," Ian whisper to me.
"Thanks dad," I smile up at him. I look over at my father and he's staring at Ian. He stops when he notices my gaze and I smile up at him.
"Happy birthday Tate. I remember the day you were born. You've uh, really grown up since then,"
"No shit man," Ian whispers under his breath. I fight to hold back a smile as I stand up.
"Thank you," I tell my father and he nods at me. We've never really been a hugging family. The haven never really let us, "Well, uh, I should probably get ready. I'll see you guys all later though, right?" Everyone nods at me and starts to leave one by one. Each letting out a final "happy birthday," before heading out. I turn around and let out a small sigh as I look at the piece of fruit on my bed. I chuckle lightly while shaking my head. I take one step before arms wrap around my waist and lips are planted on my neck.
"Happy birthday," Ellie says to me lightly as she continues to kiss my neck.
"Thanks," I whisper turning back and smiling at her, "Can I sleep at your place tonight?" Ellie nods at me, humming lightly before placing a kiss on my lips. I give her one last smile before grabbing some clothes to change into. I turn to Ellie and give her a small look. "Oh right," Ellie whispers before turning around.
"You know," Ellie says as I start to get changed, "I wouldn't be mad if I could turn around," I chuckle lightly.
"Oh I know," I throw my shirt over my head, "You can turn around," Ellie turns and looks at me, "Come on, I want food that's not that cake,"
"What you don't like it?"
"I love it, but I want something else," Ellie laughs at me.
"Alright, well come on. Let's get some actually good food," Ellie says wrapping an arm around my shoulder and leading me out the door. We get Ian, Aster, Alaia, Lev, and Joel to come with us.

Thankfully they didn't plan a lot for my birthday. It's still not something I see as a big deal so I don't need to do anything special. However, they do have a party planned for me, which is what we are heading to now. I have Aster holding one of my arms while Alaia holds the other. We walk into the town's barn and I smile at the familiar atmosphere. Twinkle lights line the barn and it reminds me of the last dance we were at. My father walks up to me and gives me a smile.
