"S whats wrong you aren't eating?" Pansy asks from her spot across me in the dining hall.

"Just..not that hungry P, wheres Millie and Daph?" I question pushing my plate of loose veggies away from me.

Shovelling another spoonful of Brussel sprouts onto hers "They wanted to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts early, people have been saying that Umbridge is going to give us a project with partners, they want to make sure they're put together. We'll see." she adds before reaching over to check the time on my pocket watch. "My look at the time, we better get going."

I watch her stuff her food into a napkin as I pick up my book bag, rolling my eyes we leave the great hall filled with students eating their lunch and make our way to the Serpentine Corridor on the third-floor.

Silence overtaking us as the light taps of our black shoes hit the tile, I can't help but think about the interaction I saw last week between Pansy and the blonde girl.

"So...how are you and Blaise?" I ask, hoping she will open up to me about what is really happening in her love life.

"I'm not sure, I'm just not...feeling it."

"Oh?" I don't want to pry but I can't help it. I'm disappointed she hasn't come to me, but I know situations like these can take time. "Is there anyone else..you know...making you happier than Blaise is?"

"What?" she says stopping in the middle of the corridor to look at me "Why would you think that?" Pansy asks, a forced smile taking form on her face.

Shit. "Just asking P."

"Okay well my love life is none of your concern S."

"Why are you getting so defensive it was only a que-"

"Because I don't want to talk about it." she says, shifting herself away from me and closer to the end of the corridor now before muttering a quick "Now c'mon we're going to be late." and storming off down the hall.

I stand still for a moment. She'll come to you when she's ready Samantha I tell myself, walking into the classroom to join the others.

I walk through the round wood door, and to my surprise everyone is already there, standing around the edges of the large room.

"Ah and that marks 26, Ms. Rowle thank you for finally joining us." the professor dressed in all pink bellows out in a stern voice. "We can now begin pairing you off for a new project."

I look around the room for Pansy and notice she is standing a few feet away with Daphne and Millie who happily get paired together right off the bat. I also notice how quickly Umbridge is going through the list.

In a blink of an eye Pansy is put with Marcus Flint and the number of students to be paired up with slowly diminishes.

"Ms. Davis and Mr. Jordan."

"Ms. Spinnet and Mr. Towler."

"Mr. Davies and Ms. Johnson."

"And so that means we are left with... Ms. Rowle." Looking up from her clipboard, her eyes scan the room looking upon the fifth and sixth years still standing at the back of the class.

I truly don't understand why all of the advanced classes in Hogwarts are really just combined with the academic courses of the grade above, I think to myself while taking my seat at one of the desks in the last row. It makes no sense, whomever come up with this idea truly did not understand the term -
