Love Again - DuaLipa
———————————————————Walking through the beaded black curtain, my jaw dropped in shock.
The cozy and comforting Gryffindor common room I once knew no longer existed, and in its place stood a booming and darkly decorated area.
Gone were the Gryffindor sashes and signature colours of red and gold, all replaced with skulls, spider webs and talking Jack-O-Lanterns that would nip if you got too close. Judging by the bite mark on Theo's jacket, I could already tell they weren't playing around.
Placed periodically in each corner of the room were drink tables. Bottles upon bottles of exotic mixes all surrounding large punch bowls, fog emitting from them and sinking to the floor to cast a gloomy overlay.
Theo and I had lost the group at this point so I clung tighter onto his forearm to not lose him as well. We stopped on the outs of the dance floor, wondering whether or not to move in and join the frenzy. "Look up." Theo yells over the music as he nudges my side with his elbow.
Turning my gaze to him, already looking up to the ceiling, bright coloured shadows dance on his skin and intertwine with each other so beautifully its almost mesmerizing. Pulling myself out of this trance and tilting my head upward, my eyes become planted on the shadows renting the high ceilings. I watch as them continue move in time with the music and cast colourful hues onto the stone walls of the room, a large red shadow glowing over the dance floor and leaving a red hue on that section of the room as well as the people inhabiting it.
As soon as my head drops back down I notice a Ravenclaw band playing in the back right corner. One drummer, One bass guitarist, One singer, and Luna? absolutely shredding it on the electric guitar.
"Look! There they are." Theo says as he leans into my ear, pointing over to the group of Slytherins we lost when we first came in.
I reluctantly tear my eyes away from band, "Go meet up with them!" I shout back "I wanna grab a drink first."
Theo gives me a questionable look before muttering a quick "Sure then." and walking past me to get to the group.
I make my way to the sticky wooden table farthest away from the group and scour for an untouched bottle.
"Hey Sam!"
"Hi Rowle!" The Selwyn twins greet me from behind the glass punch bowl, both dressed identical as The Shining Grady twins, the only differences being their hair styles. The colourful shadows from the ceiling dance across the designs on the bowl, reflecting a tinge of light into my eyes.
"Hey guys." I shout back over the loud atmosphere as I bring a hand to shield my eyes. I advert my gaze down into the punch bowl, the glitter infused into the drink begins to dance as Sadie dips her cup in and collects some.
"Whats this then?" I ask the blonde.
"You're asking me! Marcus had some earlier and I tasted it but now I can't stay away, we think its infused with some sort of herbal essence. I presume -"
"She doesn't want to hear about what you think or don't think is in the bowl Sadie." Sybil snaps as she takes the cup from her sister and downs the drink "Where is everyone Sam?" she asks in a much calmer tone.
"Ah down by the entrance." I signal with my pointer finger, not even turning my head as I squint to read the labels on the various liquor bottles, my contacts scratching my corneas.
"Pansy isn't with them?" she asks nonchalantly, confused as to why I am sniffing an exotic berry blend.
Bringing my head up to look back at the group, I count; Draco, Astoria, Theo, Blaise. . . No Pansy. I make eye contact with Sybil and only shrug before she rolls her eyes and leaves the conversation, walking past the table and getting lost in the sea of dancers.
