I remember the stories my grandfather used to tell me. Stories of mermaids, and sirens. My favourite stories were the ones of mermaids. He was a sailor. He would sail the raging seas, and he loved every minute of it. I always adored whenever I got to see him, because he would always have a new story to tell.
I remember how he would sing me to sleep. He would sing me the sea shanty, Jolly Sailor Bold. I still remember the melody. The beach I'm at reminds me of him. He'd take me here every time he'd come home.
"My heart is pierced by cupid. I disdain all glittering gold. There is nothing can console me, but my jolly sailor bold." I mutter. The waves crashing onto the shore echo through out the beach. A wonderful sound.
I take a deep breath, smelling the salt of ocean. Letting out a loud sigh, I hear an echo. Followed by a beautiful singing voice. I look around, to see if I can find someone singing. However I can't. I feel drawn to the voice, but frightened as well. The melody is haunting, but enchanting. I recognize the words to the song.
I run from the beach as I hear the lyrics from Jolly Sailor Bold. "Who the hell can project their voice like that!?" I ask myself. I decide to head back to the beach tomorrow, to further investigate.
I get home and flop into bed. I smell like the beach. I get up, and head to the shower, the stories my grandfather told me flood my head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wake up groggy. I drag myself to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower. The cherry blossom scent fills the air. The warm water runs down my body, simultaneously waking me up and making me fall asleep.
I step out of the shower and dry off. I do my hair, and head to my closet. I pick out a nice outfit. It's supposed to be a little chilly today. I pull out a pair of black jeans, combat boots, and a purple and gray sweater. I throw it on, grab my phone and headphones, and head to a near by coffee shop.
I step into the coffee shop. I stand in line behind a red head and someone with monochrome hair. They both look elegant, however the red head has a sense of chaos to them. I watch the two grab their coffee. I catch a glimpse of the monochrome one's face. They're stunningly beautiful.
It's now or never. If I don't say hi to the monochrome one I'm going to kick myself for eternity. I muster up the courage and walk up to them. "Uhm. Excuse me. I couldn't help but notice how attractive you were. And, I uh- I wanted to say hi." I stutter.
They turn to look at me. Their gaze sets my soul on fire. They have soft facial features, with gorgeous magenta eyes. What makes them more beautiful, is the fact that their eyes are two different shades of purple. "Uh! My name is (Reader)! By the way." I blurt out, smiling stupidly.
"My name is Flower." They speak. Their voice is deep and smooth. It's enchanting. One might even say it's alluring. "Can I maybe get your number?" I ask. 'Whoa! Slow down (Reader)! You just met them two seconds ago!' I think to myself.
"Number's are a bit personal, don't you think? How about I give you my Instagram instead?" They smile. "Okay!" I'm so nervous right now. They give me their Instagram account. I open the profile to find several professional looking photos of themselves.
"Alright! I followed you!" I smile at them. "Which one is yours?" They show me their phone, and I tap the follow button. "There! You're following me." I smile. "Thank you. Feel free to DM me later tonight. I wouldn't mind talking to someone as cute as you." They wink.
I can physically feel my heart melt. After a few seconds, I realized my mouth was agape. So I snap out of my trance and go to respond. "Yeah! Yeah, I'll do that!" I nod my head furiously. "Hey! Flo! Can we go now!?" The red head yells. "Yeah. Just give me sec." The respond, at just the perfect volume.
"UHM! Before you go, is it okay if I ask you just one question?" I mumble. "Sure." They nod. "What gender are you? If you don't mind answering." I stutter. "Heh. I'm a girl. But depending on where things take us, I could be whatever you want me to be." They lift my chin up slightly, their voice low and seductive. I feel my legs wobble.
"FLOWER!" The red head screams. "I'm coming. I'm coming. I guess I'll talk to you later tonight then." They flash me quick smirk, before booping my nose and leaving the coffee shop. My heart beat is racing, and my palms feel all sweaty. I did it! I actually did it! "Miss. Are you here to pick up an order, or to place one?" The barista asks from behind the counter. "Oh! That's right." I snap out of my haze.
(Author's note)
Henlo. Brand new fic. Hope you like it. I will be fixing the cover, once I figure out how to get back into the app I was using. Please don't try Flower's method of seduction at home. 'Tis something only Flower can pull off. Bye bye.
