[It is dark outside, and Gracie Saltzman is walking through the wooded area between her school and the cast-iron gates. She speaks in voiceover as she walks with purpose toward the entrance]
GRACIE: [voiceover] When we're young, we're taught the distinction between a hero and a villain. Good and evil. A savior and a lost cause. But what if the only real difference is who's telling the story? My name is Graciela Saltzman. I come from a long line of the villains in the tales you've heard about vampires, werewolves, witches, and everything in-between. The school behind these gates protects the secrets of people like me. Gracie's side of the dorm
[Graciela was writing a letter to her surrogate mother, Caroline Forbes during her lunch break when her twin sister Josie walked into the dorm. She turns in her chair to face Josie]
JOSIE: Hey get ready we're doing a tour when dad gets back for a werewolf, Rafael Waithe.
GRACIE: Right, [She turns back to her desk] Ralph Wyatt.
JOSIE: Do you realize when you do that?
GRACIE: Do what?
[Josie giggled and playfully rolled her eyes, before she closed the door she said]
JOSIE: Just get ready, sis.
